Its already expensive because were a tiny island in the middle of freaking nowhere...but the taxmongering Democrats don't make it any easier...the problem is compounded because of their rip off tax policies.

These taxmongering Democrat is the reason why we are the highest taxed state in the nation and the #1 worse place to make a living.

[edit]Oʻahu in media

Due to its beauty, easy access from Hollywood and incentives by the state and local governments, Oʻahu has been featured in many movies and television shows. There is great financial incentive on the part of the State to promote filming on location in Hawaiʻi as the local economy benefits. The notable films and shows to shoot scenes on Oʻahu include, but not limited to:

Hanauma Bay
Blue Crush, Soul Surfer, Lost, Dante's Cove, 50 First Dates, Flight 29 Down, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, From Here to Eternity (movie), From Here to Eternity (TV series), Hawaii Five-O, Jake and the Fatman, the Jurassic Park movies, The Karate Kid, Part II, Magnum, P.I., Mighty Joe Young, North Shore, Pearl Harbor, Tora! Tora! Tora!, and Windtalkers. The Disney Channel movie Johnny Tsunami as well as its sequel, Johnny Kapahala, use O'ahu as the hometown of the family. The Even Stevens Movie, also by Disney, was filmed in various locations on O'ahu. The reality TV show Dog the Bounty Hunter is filmed in the regions of Honolulu, Oʻahu (as well as other regions in Oʻahu), and the city of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi. The children's series Flight 29 Down was filmed on the island. The hit television series Lost was filmed almost entirely on O'ahu, and many of the show's stars still call the island home. The island's thick rainforests and picturesque beaches are prominently featured. The ABC TV show Hawaiian Eye, while set in Hawai'i, was filmed in Los Angeles. Another ABC TV show, "The River", was filmed on O'ahu as well. The new Hawaii Five-0 is set and filmed on location on the island. Some scenes from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides were also filmed on Oʻahu. The 2012 film Battleship is also set and filmed on location on Oʻahu, and the other Hawaiian islands.

Pearl Harbor survivior to receive overdue medals

By Associated Press

POSTED: 07:28 a.m. HST, Apr 07, 2013

TUCSON, Ariz.>> A 91-year-old Tucson veteran will be getting a special medal from Arizona Congressman Ron Barber on Monday.

Barber's office says Pearl Harbor survivor Clarence W. Ellquist will receive the Navy's last Pearl Harbor Commemorative Medal. He also will be presented with eight other medals to which he was entitled but never received.

In 1941, Ellquist was a 19-year-old Gunner's Mate 3rd Class assigned to the USS Preble. He volunteered to help fight fires on ships that had been attacked in the harbor and to reload weapons on ships that weren't damaged.

After Pearl Harbor, he served in the Pacific throughout the war.

A limited number of the commemorative medals were produced for those who were certified as eligible by their branch of service. The Navy says the one Ellquist will receive is the last medal it has to distribute.

Guru...the real Guru, not the idiot moron troll from "scottsdale".

re: Hawaii being expensive...TOTALLY UNTRUE. I stay at the best location hotels for about $20/day. And I eat the best food for about $8/meal. There are many ways to do it. The trick is knowing how and where to stay/eat. Even the locals don't know how to do it.

I would love to talk about it but that would mean that this idiot would move there and collect welfare from Hawaii.
