How is Ray Gaspard doing in the chief's race? Isn't he the most qualified for the position?

From the looks of things in this chief's race it does look like Gaspard is the best qualified. Gaspard was a police man in Kaplan back when the police department meant something to the city of Kaplan. It was a time when people could call and expect to get a response and depend on results.
If LeMaire is elected it will continue to be like it was for the last 12 years since Chief Perry is backing her and she will let her son run the place which is not practical.
If Adams is elected then the Sheriff will have a lot of input in the city since he is backing Mr. Adams. Mr. Adams also has the backing of the rich in town because of his family name.
If Mr. Gaspard is elected then there should be a change of what has been going on for the last 12 years that some of the people are not satisfied with. He has the experience to run the department since he has seen how some of the other departments in the country has been run successfully.
So I guess it is up to the people to see what they have and what they can have.

WOW, I guess my question got answered. Sure sounds like Gaspard is the way to go.
Isn't there a question about something that Adams did? Seems like I am getting the run around about that.

Neither one of the candidates for Police Chief in Kaplan is qualified to lead the department in the direction it needs to head to. Neither one has the experience and KNOWLEDGE to take a police department that has fallen so far behind and turn it into an upstanding law enforcement department of the 21st century. A department with highly trained and motivated officers, a department with the skills to handle a critical incident of homeland security or a simple crisis that may arise within the City of Kaplan.
But, we once had a candidate with the EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE to do so with the Kaplan Police Department. In the last election, that candidate's intelligent plan for law enforcement was criticized and un-truths were spread which caused voters to believe he would have been a tyrant. And look what happened ! Look at us now ! We lost the only chance to advance the KPD to where it deserves and should be today.
So, don't look for ANYTHING near what could have been to occur with the three candidates. THEY SIMPLY ARE NOT CAPABLE.

You need to remember that the old rice mills have been torn down and Bin Laden can't hide in them any more since you are worried about Homeland security.
Are you Brookes kinfolk or close friend.
Gaspard might not be trained in the high profession of State Police but he can run the department.
And also what would of Brookes done? He would of wanted to run the city like when LeMaire, an ex state policemand, was first elected he had radar guns in every car issuing tickets because that is all he knew what to do.

Neither just a good reader. That is right he is not trained in the high profession of catching terrorists, unless he is and I didn't hear about it. But some of the people he had to deal with were probably more dangerous than Bin Laden was.
And why isn't Brookes in Pakistan tracking Bin Laden since he is so highly trained?

It's too bad that a forum can't be about people stating intelligent opinions about issues without it becoming a sparring match about terrorists and Bin Laden? Since neither has anything to do with the matters at hand in Kaplan, I'll sign off of bothering to try to have a constructive discussion with you. But, you go ahead. Thankfully we live in a free nation. Be careful, though; someone's laughing.

Hey, you are the one who brought up the fact that Brookes was highly trained in Homeland Security and the only need for Homeland Security in Kaplan would of been if Bin Laden was hiding in the rice mill.

Right now it would take a miracle from God to get the department into the 21st. century. Yes, Brooks
would have made a fine chief, but speaking for my elderly parent they wanted to "back Steve" so he could have the years to retire. Go figure. The elderly are the ones suffering for a decision they made to help a man you never see on the street because someone else runs the deaprtment for him. My only question as many have asked me is - doesn't Mr. Gaspard have a bail bonding business and isn't that a conflict of interest? And, no before anybody considers me a relative/or friend of Brooks I am neither, because I do not know the man, but it is unfortunate the citizenry in Kaplan didn't do the right thing when he ran for the position.

Mr. Gaspard could always resign at President of the bonding company when elected. If that is the only thing that people can find wrong then elect him because he can do a better job than the other two candidates.
Also tifi you have kids, you should check on one of the other candidates

Ray Gaspard takes bribes from people. He will trade guns and other things to get people out of jail. He honestly reminds me of a crooked cop. I know he isn't a cop anymore, but taking bribes and stuff isn't cool to me.

How can you call taking guns or anything or value a bribe. He is getting money's worth for putting up a bond. Isn't that called barter instead of bribes? If they don't have the money then he can convert what ever he gets for money.
What do you call what Mr. Adams did? Didn't it involve kids? I got a name for that but his family name kept that name from being associated with him. And also isn't Mr. Adams very good friends with some of the people in jail also?
