When are we ever going to learn? So what if you're late for an appointment-slow down or better yet leave earlier so you have enough time. Now - because of someone else's thoughtlessness 2 people are dead and 2 are in the hospital possibly fighting for their own lives. How tragic.

May God bless mom and baby and give them strength to carry on. May He shower both with peace and help heal mom's broken heart.

it's time to set hefty fines for speeding. the speed limits are set for a reason. and the more cars on the road, the more vigilant the system should be at punishing speeders.

While our hearts go out to the victims of the accident and our traffic inconvenience of being stalled for 4 hours seem insignificant, it is not the first time and will not be the last if the officials do not do something about it.

This is a real tragedy. The people here on Kauai must understand that the roads here are primarily two lanes. There's no need to be speeding. I've lived here for 19 yrs and I've seen many car fatalities. Some of them are people I know personally. On that day, there were actually three more car accidents that occured. Luckily, nobody was injured. People gotta "slow down it's only an island". My prayers go out to those affected and involved with this tragedy...

Every day I watch people on cell phones dialing and going off the road or into another lane on Oahu. When do we become a real state like WA and CA and ban cell phone use while driving. My heart goes out to the victims and their families.

Why don't police patrol these crowded traffic corridors in their cruisers at peak times to inhibit speeders?

Yes speed was a factor, but also stupidity. The driver that caused the accident was an idiot and was one before he got into his car. Its a shame he had to take someone with him. Its easy to ask why dont the police do more. But Kauai doesnt have enough police to be everwhere at once. Blame the court system for allowing idiots to keep their licenses and makeing penalties so small.
