I have a Ford Explorer 2009, and the paint is ruined from many places. If the warranty doesn't cover it, does anyone know how much would it cost to fix it PROPERLY?

I have been watching several places on my 2003 Ford Ranger where the primer have been revealed. I just washed my truck this weekend to find a 2" paint bubble on the rocker panel below the passenger door! I did a Google search for Ford paint failure and boy did I get an eyefull! I bought this truck new in April '04 with 23 miles on it.
Any of my neighbors would tell you that I take very good care of my vehicles. I know that this is not a result of neglect. There is primer showing through the driver's front fender where it meets the hood, above the driver's side door, and now this spot under the pass. side door. It appears that Ford had a problem with iron residue under the paint that works it's way out over time.
From 2000-2005 it seems many vehicles were affected, but Ford won't own this as a problem. I can only imagine how they would ding me if I went to trade this in on another Ford!!!!!!! Of course the dealer says it's a Ford issue, and it is. I will not buy another Ford, and I know many others that won't also. Among my vehicles owned for the last 42 years are Chevys, Pontiac, Dodge, Mercedes, Audis, Peuguot, BMW, and an '81 Ford van that we finally buried. The paint never "failed" on any of these vehicles, except the '03 Ranger.
It seems the only recourse is small claims court. I don't really have the inclination. Will I be a loyal Ford customer and return for another, doubt it. Thanks for letting me vent!

I have a black 2001 f-150 supercrew 4wd with bad ford paint job. Mine started cracking right after my warranty ran out. I spent all the time making the calls to Ford like all of you with no results. I finally gave up. I paid $36,000 new and put another $12,000 in it with the lift, tires, exhaust, cold air intake, stereo, etc. Driving around in a $50,000 vehicle with cracked paint and don't have enough money to fix it. They said if 100 people or more called in they might think about a recall. BS, I have read more than 300 posts of people calling in and nothing has been done. Ford F******ked us all and they don't care. Supposedly the federal government has regulations to keep this from happening to consumers, but the federal government is F****cking us every single day just as bad as Ford and they will never make them fix the problem. Ford Motor Company has plenty of money but they had rather spend that money bribing our elected officials who go to Washington to get rich instead of doing what they are elected to do instead of making things right with the stupid consumers who continue to buy their vehicles. Ford couldn't go broke, our federal government would use our tax dollars to keep them in business so they can continue to line their pockets.

Why would you continue to buy FORDS when they can stand behind their product???? Over $600 for over 5 years is a lot of $$$$$$!!!! I like to take care of my stuff and keep it looking nice!
Too many high-pressure car washes I presume.

Ford Owners have taken action and have received repaints or payments in NJ, MI, OR, NY, ID, IL, IN, MA, CA and TX (some $5K and above) Most of the vehicles were out of warranty. However they still prevailed. Details presented on the Ford Mercury Paint Peeling Facebook Site. The most recent victory was for a Pre-Owned 2003 Ford Expedition in which the owner won $5K in 2013 from Ford.

I have a 2006 ford expedition with hood paint bubbling and peeling. Also bad rusting of the grooves on the roof. This is ridiculous! They should fix this!

My Ford Edge has bubbling under the paint. The paint is chipping off the rear end. Rust is speckled throughout and the rear wheel wells are corroded. I saw another Edge with the same problem. I don't know if the whit paint is bad or the metal is inferior.

I not only took my SUV up to Ford to complain I took it in right before the warantee expired and even paid the extra $100.00 to have them do the extra inspection and they would not do anything about the paint. So warantee or not "tough luck" has anyone thought about a class action law suite?
I have a 2009 Ford Edge and love the vehicle but all of the molding is plastic covered foil and peels off and looks horrible and cheap. Also, I have owned at least 4 other black GM vehicles (Chevy) and never had a problem with the paint veering too hot in the sun that it will actually BURN you and cAuse blisters. I am looking for a way past my dealership to file a complaint.
