Home invasion, shots fired, schools locked down & people want him released? I suppose that if the home owner had blasted him to kingdom come with a 12 gauge shotgun, you would want the homeowner hung from the highest yardarm. If he did it, he is a menace to society and needs to be locked up, before someone is killed.

The 17 year old is innocent until proven guilty. People are so quick to judge our children and also railroad them into the system. Where are the mentors for our young people, so quick to judge and say they are a menace to society, what actions have you made to make the society or the community better, if not then you should not be commenting. What you should be doing is praying and for every invovled in the incident, because its somone elses child today but could be yours tommorrow in the same situation.

To 'prayer changes things": You ask what have I done to make society or the community better. I'll tell you. I voluntarily served my country for 20 years, I teach martial arts to anyone who wants to learn & I chose to obey the law. That's what I have done. What have YOU done?

I do know you failed to read the entire post. I said "If he did it, he is a menace to society and needs to be locked up, before someone is killed". I did not say he did it, so how can you consider that 'railroading'? I say again, would you rather have had the homeowner turn someone into hamburger with a 12 gauge shotgun or would you have been so self righteous if the occupants of the house had all been killed over a 'nickel & dime' break in?

Let's get some perspective here. Two people got shot out of the three that invaded the home. The homeowner could have got all three & we wouldn't be having this discussion.

Figures all of the apologists come crawling out of the woodwork saying "Don't judge!". They can excuse away anything with their closed minds. Reality is a BIATCH!

Hope everything works out for that young man & those IN the situation for the better. If he was involved, I'm sure his associates aren't too far from the tree. I guess no one was hurt; but the fact that he got ahold of a weapon is of more concern to me than the home invasion.. people be trippin.

Mike: I agree. Da Boss A's post along with 'a teacher of the boy' are first rate examples of why people should stay in school and get an education. Now it is entirely possible that Da Boss's post is satire, in which case, it is hilarious. But the post by 'teacher' leaves me scratching my head. If they are REALLY a teacher, where is the punctuation? If they are truly a teacher, it proves that the school system where that person teaches is irretrievable broken. The entire post is a run-on sentence, no punctuation, no sentence structure and no clue of how to write. Incredible.

Now on to the fun stuff. Two shot & in the hospital ward of the jail, another in jail and they picked up this high school student.... hmmmm, he MIGHT have been the lookout or driver. One of his 'buddies' must have narc'd him out. No honor among thieves, is there? I will be interested to see how this turns out. Oh and by the way, I hope the 'bad guys' don't try to sue the homeowner for their injuries. Kansas has Castle Doctrine, passed a couple of years back. The homeowner is no longer required to retreat if he is somewhere he is lawfully allowed to be, ie. his home. The bad guys should be grateful to be alive; a homeowner trained in application of deadly force in stressful situations would have killed all three. Now stick that in your pipe and smoke it.

To the writer of post #17, no, I will not stop talking. Last time I checked, this is STILL America, and I can say what I like, as long as I do not say something that is false and purport it to be true. The legal term for it is 'slander'.

Based on the facts of the case so far, 3 people illegally entered a home (a place of residence that was not where they lived). Why they did that, I do not know. That information has not been made public. The person that was lawfully entitled to be there (the homeowner), used an unknown weapon to defend himself. The homeowner apparently felt his life was in danger, therefore, he felt compelled to take the steps necessary to protect his life. Two of the people illegally entering the residence received wounds caused by a projectile weapon (could have been shotgun, rifle or handgun). Bad guys apparently leave the house. Bad guys show up at hospital to have wounds treated. Hospital must report gunshot wounds to police. Homeowner has notified police that people entered his house illegally. Homeowner probably ID's bad guys. Police arrest the two at the hospital. These two give up the others involved. Pretty simple to me.

The only other suggestion I have for some of the people here is to figure out sentence structure and punctuation. At the very least, write your post in Word (or something with spelling and grammer check), copy it and paste it here. People might take you seriously then.

A real what? Obviously a word not allowed by the moderators and just as obviously used by someone that lacks the basic command of the English language. A jerk... I've been called worse and as the old saw goes "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never harm me." Bring facts and an ability to discuss them without resorting to name calling. Otherwise, you are just a pathetic noise blowing in the wind.
