Just got finished watching the Gileat Extreme Makeover for the second time, and it still brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Daniel, and all of you in the armed forces who are fighting for us.
Good for you

Daniel, my family and I appreciate everything that you and all of our troops do for us each and every day. You sacrifice more than any of us could even begin to understand. Too often people take that for granted. I'm so happy that you were able to be given something back for the courage and strength you've shown us all, and for protecting the one thing we couldn't live without - Our Freedom. In a perfect world all of our troops would be taken care of much better than they are. I hope that you can enjoy your home and family and not pay attention to negative comments or questions pertaining to your marriage. There are reason for everything and people need to be happy for others and not so judgemental. Your personal life is your personal life. You being a marine is something we could never thank you enough for. You are a hero and so are all our troops. God bless all our troops and keep them and their families safe!

I enjoyed watching the show so much last night. I was in tears practically the whole time. What a great family! I am honored that I live in a country that is protected by such loyal and dedicated soldiers. I am truly proud to be an American. Daniel Gilyeat is probably one of the most inspiring people I've ever seen. I'm not sure you will ever read all of the messages that were left for you on all of the forums I've seen, but if you ever see this, just know that you gave me optimism and courage to be a better mother, friend and person. I too am going through a rough patch right now and I know I saw the show for a reason. You are truly a Godsend. If anyone knows of an email address or contact information for this family, I would love to contact them. shellibeebe@yahoo.com

It is so plainly clear what this man is truly made of, all you need do is examine those riduculously amazing children, the incredible constitution of Alexis at 9 years old, Victoria and angel, and those boys, they are their father. The apple does not fall far from the tree. I a nurse and single mother raised two wonderful children. At present single, children are raised, and looking for my soulmate. I know I was looking right at him as I watched that program. I am the proud granddaughter of a marine, (drill sargent) his bloods runs through me. I would just die to be right there by his/your side.  I'll just pray I get to contact him or get a reply.

I was particularly moved by the way Daniel behaved. He was humble, whilst being strong and courageous. I think the military in the USA and here in the UK do a fantastic job whilst serving their country abroad. I wish Daniel and his family the very best of luck. God bless you and thank you.

I am thinking he is to PROUD and THANKFUL for this wonderful gift he has been given to want trash it. He wants the best for his children and he has his own safe haven.....his 'garage' to go to...he will not trash that. Daniel seems as though he is a loving, compassionate, caring, thoughtful, kind person along with being a wonderful & proud father/hero/idol to his children. They have a bond that will NEVER be broken much like that of him and his brothers...'Semper Fi'.
Thanks for everything you have put your life on the line for.....it is greatly appreciated!!!! My daughter has Down Syndrome and loves to write the Soldiers overseas and wounded at Walter Reed. She would love to write you and your children to thank you for all you have done and all that you do.... We can be contacted at mykidzandme@gmail.com -- She would love to write some of the soldiers your visit also...you let us know.
THANKS AGAIN!!:-)
You are so full of it, you are nothing but white trailer trash and your daughter deserves a better mother

Your cousin ROCKS! My husband and I really support the troops and everything they stand for! How selfless were his acts of bravery, nobility and honor! We adored the Extreme Makeover show with Daniel and good riddance to the wife that left him! She didn't have a fraction of honor in her fabric! I'm glad that the liberal media gave him the reverance that Daniel deserved...he' a great American, soldier and humanitarian! Corpus Christi, Texas
There's a chance that there's an upcoming episode featuring a family in Flour Bluff. When EMHE showed a teaser on TV today (15 May 09) it briefly showed a picture of a unique trailer belonging to a family that does a lot to help the homeless.

I don't know how often, or even IF that happens, but I certainly hope my cousin, here, doesn't do something that stupid with the gift he's been given.
I have been so moved and touched by Daniel and his beautiful family. I have been a single parent for some time now and am so touched to see a father so totally dedicated to his children. My kids are the most important thing in my life and have kept me alive thru much. I could only dream of meeting someone like him.

We hear/read so much bad news, it is always a great blessing to see the good news, too. Daniel, you sound like a good guy. It has been a joy to read about you. The Lord bless you and your children. j
