questions about Kannapolis

I'm thinking of relocating. what is this area like? How are the schools? Is there alot to do in the area? Is there alot of shopping and restaruants? Any info good or bad would help. Thanks.

Area in transition
Grocery stores suck,Best one is Harris Teeter in Concord, That's not saying much.
Restaurants Improving
Shopping gets better as you drive towards Charlotte,That's generally the rule with everything.

A little more ...Kannapolis doesn't really have a lot.For most things i drive to Concord or Charlotte.It's not a far drive.
The school wasn't considered the greatest in the area but i hear it's improved a great deal over the years.I don't have any kids so i can't confirm.

For something to do...again Kannapolis Not Much,The area is big in Racing .The Charlotte motor Speedway isn't far.It has a dirt track for sprint cars and now a dragstrip for NHRA.Farther North Is Lake Norman a good place to take a boat out, they have restaurants and clubs on the lake also.To the south is High Rock and Baden Lake along with Uwharrie National forest.The area is good for outdoor types Fishing,Camping Whatever.Paramounts Carowinds is the theme park south of Charlotte.If you are willing to Drive the Mountains are to the west and the then the Outer banks on the coast.It's not hard to find something to do.

Although Kannapolis is a great place to live, I prefer Concord. These two town are are joining. They are both in the same county. Our weather is mild. We only have about three months of real cold weather and even that is not as cold as where you would be coming from.You can drive to either the beach or the mountains. Both are beautiful. Cost of living is not as high as up north. I could go on and on about our town ... it's a wonderful place to live!!! Come on down....but don't make fun of us...not the way we talk, not the food we eat , not the way we dress. Most of us are good honest people who will make you feel at home!!
