No dought in my mind his family was hiding or knew of his whereabouts so that he never would get served with at least two TRO's. Had he got served this might not have happened. This could have easily been a double or triple homicide.

Our court system again has another chance to put yes another animal away. How many more deaths is it going to take.

Did you see the video where the Sheriff in the jump suit came over and put his arm around the poor murderer's back to console him from the murdered victims friend?

I guess getting hit with bullets in your head and back is okay but getting hit with words in a court room is obnoxious, offensive and horrible.

Gotta luv Hawaii.

Oops I meant "poor murderer's brother's back".

Watch the Tv clip, the family is a bunch of scum just like him. They raised and obviously share his values of someone who would stalk and shoot a man in his own home in the back.

Then they try to challenge his best friend to "beef". What a bunch of looozas!

Watch the headlines for his family to commit future crimes.

They seem to share his values and their pathetic reasoning "he was trying to help the woman get off drugs" is beyond belief.

what was that sheriff thinking? He should have arrested the slime brother for terroristic threatening.

This accused murder, his family and the State Sheriff are thugs.

The man was expressing his emotion about his best friends murder.

Shame on this Hawaiian family. What happened to humility and the aloha spirit. This family is no good. They should be seek forgiveness.

Citizens want justice.

Vernette Kahanaoi says "they are just making up facts". A gem. If they are facts they are not made up.

Funny how the same incident gets reported somewhat differently by the two papers. The facts speak for themselves in the case, no need yelling. But if I were a friend or family of the victim, I would have wanted to do the same thing. I hope the judge and jury take into consideration his lack of remorse and flippant attitude when sentencing.

Yeah, just a nice Hawaiian boy engaged in some Hawaiian love....I only "beat you, kill you-fill in the blank" because I love you...He will probably get off with probation. Love that Hawaii justice system.

Is that "good person" or his supportive family from 96792?

what a worthless family, they probably hid him and have blood on their hands. they give us hawaiians a bad name.

The family is just a bad as that looser. The bottom line is that this looser needs to be responsible for his actions.

Yes there are always two sides of a story, but only one side carried out teh cold blodded murder.

Quotes from the hui:

"My brother was trying to help her get off."

Vernett Kahanaoi, Joseph Kahanaoi's wife, added that her brother-in-law is "a good person" and that is why he turned himself in to police.

"They are just making up the facts,"

This doesn't give that looser the right to kill

Too bad the Kahanaoi's feel obligated to defend an 'ohana member that's trashed their family name. There's murder and mockery in the Kahanaoi name now. Forever and ever.

Only 18 comments so far--I am sure they are are all pro defendant...like defendant's relatives---like ""--eventhough defendant shot some one in the back at his home and in cold blood and taunts back his best friend hours afterthe murder---

Actions speak louders than words--Kimmel didnt have the gun---the Defendant did---terroists cannot justify their actions with there are 2 sides--that's whats wrong with the thinking of many persons in today's society, many think they are right and can act unlawfully and be justified---not so
