"God has so richly blessed this land, not just with the oil and the gas, but with wind and the hydro, the geothermal and the biomass." So said vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin at a recent political rally ... Read more

You can always count of Kirk Caldwell to talk stupid.

The Democratic hack is back with a new attack.

Hey Kirk, WAKE UP, you and your fellow corrupt Democrats should read the ti-leaves: We are in financial straights---all of us--- and sacrifices are going to have to be made.

No more endless luaus, with Democrats stuffing their faces like gorged pigs at the trough, like your campaign fun-raisers.

Governor Lingle has to make tough calls, and YOU Caldwell (and, by the way, I'm so glad you too stupid to figure out when the deadline is for running for office), stop being a Democrat lap-dog, and start thinking for yourself.

Palin, entering the world stage is "perhaps" well equipted to run gor Gov. of Hawai'i or like a Clint Eastwood, mayor of a small CA. town, or really go for it like "Arnold", Gov. of 1 BIG state.
But VP of the entire 50 states, and maybe as President? NO WAY!
She may be able to transfer all those hunting skills from killing moose and wolves to killing feral pigs and mongooses, but that's a stretch.
Stay in Alaska, bear more children and be a grandmother to little Bristol's sex escapades.

You are one sexist jerk.

I have one question for you, if your man Barry can't keep his word on a written promise to accept public financing for his campaign, how many of the promises he makes in speeches do you expect him to keep?

hey hannah,
I vote no on rail, why? because ridership will be low and u and the pro-railers have no idea how many people will ride the train. Since u are a graduate student I presume you will work on the mainland because of better pay? So please would u like to pay my taxes for the rail why u r making lots of money on the mainland, lol. Rail will only lessen the congestion by a small fraction and for much more costly than EZ way Ann proposes. You have been studying to much books hannah. Use COMMON SENSE IF YOU HAVE SOME

I believe Obama "promised" only to aggressively pursue an agreement with the republican candidate to limit themselves to public campaign financing. Looks like there were only one or two meetings at most between the campaigns- not really an "aggressive" attempt. But I don't blame the Obama campaign for not trusting the Republicans to stick to any agreement. The Republican 527's and the RNC's headstart on fundraising all during the Democratic primaries, would alone have made it an unfair match. Plus, the McCain campaign had already gamed the public financing system earlier.

BTW, I have to agree with you here. It would appear you are correct. I was fully with dargent77's comments up until that last sentence.

Kirk Caldwell, you are a politician through and through. A scumbag, in other words. Here we are, facing one of the worst economic crises in history and you, you lousy slimeball, are trying to make political hay over needed budget cuts. Despicable!!

Girls: Palin's VP platform (as well as McCain's) is: Overturn Roe v. Wade, make abortion illegal, NO teaching of sex education in schools, teach "abstinence" as form of birth control...
Let me clue you blind, deaf, and dumb broads onto something here, now, and and real: your daughters, nieces, grandchildren are HAVING SEX. And it's UN-PROTECTED. And loosing their virginity by 14,(maybe 11 or 12 in Hawai'i) certainly by 16. They will get pregnant and have abortions, legal or not. Unless you want to be a grandparent at 40. Bury your collective heads in the sand like you did voting for Bush TWICE. My kids are grown, I don't really care about your stupidity.

Thank you for an intelligent response. It is my understanding that when Obama was an underdog he signed an agreement with the McCain camp that he would accept public financing if McCain did. Last I heard Obama raised $150millon in Sept while McCain's budget for the whole campaing is $84 million. I voted absentee and didn't vote for either of them but is seem to me if you give your word you keep it.
