Schools to ask voters for bond approval

“We've done all the upgrading we can do to make them work.”

A handful of northern Michigan school districts will ask voters to approve bond issues next month. via Traverse City Record-Eagle

why should we pay for a new millage when its TCAPS that we are paying for? we pay for them to get picked up on the Elk Rapids school bus. Yes we go out of our district and pick up kids that last year went to Bertha Vos. I am voting a big fat NO on the bond.

I say feed them peanut butter and bread. That will save money on lunches, and they can take the extra and pay me to sit here and write this stuff.

Actually- former Tcaps students are now ElkRapids students- and they do come with their share of money for your schools so you really shouldn't be complaining about that. Elk Rapids has always been a "click" town- I should know, I was a "transplant" from a different town and even way back then if you weren't born there or hadn't slept with your cousin-you didn't fit in-period.

If you don't like elk rapids then move but tell me about how mean elk rapids people are to you. I was not raised in er I moved from somewhere else too. And they don't all sleep with their cousins. and do you live in Elk Rapids school district?? because if you don't well then I guess your voice doesn't matter.

I graduated from Elk Rapids and lived there for many, many years. I know the town and its people very well and believe me- some do sleep with their cousins! I love Elk Rapids-(many of its people are wonderful) Inside the ER Schools- it is a very clicky community though- and who are you to tell me my voice doesn't count?

There was a big celebration in Elk Rapids today. More computers for the children!! The sky is no longer falling...for perhaps another year.

Pretty funny all the parents who thought Elk Rapids would be a better choice for their children because TCAPS was having to downsize their schools...Did they ever consider how wealthy TCAPS actually is to have sooo many elementary schools to provide for this community., By the way, Courtade School's new addition is looking rather nice- they have a huge area to place the new playground; a huge tower was installed to meet the growing needs for computor, cable, ect., and much progress has been made this year to unite the Bertha Vos and Courtade parents...personally, I think by combining these two schools is allowing our children to have more...(I am sure the other schools that have been combined will feel the same after the initial transition, remodeling, grade reconfiguration, ect. "Good job TCAPS!!!"
