There was a huge section that was blacked out in the report about the crash that could not possibly have held confidential information, such as social security numbers, or addresses of victims or witnesses. Ed Corrigan, the county attorney, who also tried to protect the shooter of a man whose wife he was having an affair with, did his best to keep the report secret. This was done to protect the congressman who endangered his staffers by bringing them aboard a boat steered by a state senator who was extremely inebriated. One staffer almost died, only rescued when a camper who heard the crash ran to the site and pulled the aide out of water where he had been floating face down, massively brain damaged.
