I find it ironic that the museum even has such controversial information in it anyway. Evolution is a theory after all. There is not any proof that evolution like these eras and periods happened anyway. The fossil record does not show any transitional forms where supposedly these animals and such evolved. The fossils show the truth. If there were such intermediatary forms, they would be shown in the fossil record. Don't blindly believe lies like these museums show. I'm glad this student was able to point out the error, but the bigger error is still brainwashing millions each year. Evolution is only a theory.

Good job young man!!! Good that you spoke up also. I see a lot of errors on signs, in articles, other places. Sometimes I can't say anything, and sometimes when I do, they just brush it off. Happy someone paid attention to you! Keep up the good work.:o)

Congratulations Kenton! It's amazing how many things in life we see and don't take the time to really look. Way to go! May you never forget that through your life.

Dear For-Real, You are correct, this isn't a story on the evolutionary theory. Kenton is an amazing 5th grader for noticing this error in the the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History. Having been there, it is a huge museum filled with interesting pieces of history. I guess my point was that the museum prides itself on truth, yet it is filled with errors. Kenton found one. The bigger one is the evolutionary theory presented as fact throughout the museum. When, in fact, evolution is just a theory. The precambrian mix up was just one small error in the midst of huge errors supposedly spanning millions and billions of years. The museum should proclaim truth, not theory presented as truth.

Way to go kid! Glad to know someone paid attention in class in some point in their life. More surprising than the museum's error in the display was the fact that even though you would think some bright, college educated people are employed there, they couldn't even send this poor kid a thank you card with his first or last name spelled correctly. And on top of all that, they got the name of his town wrong. Keep up the good work Kenton, I hope someday you take over the job of Director of The Smithsonian!

He probably has bad hand writing and they couldn't make out the spelling of his name and what not. They also probably think he is a little shit.
