Excellent job Tom Eichler

I went to a store yesterday on Kapahula and noticed standard white bread selling at $7.00 a loaf.

A plug:
People in Hawaii with perfect weather can do it better.

Much much petter !

Govinda's juice is the best! I started shopping at the new Safeway on Kapahulu, but they don't carry Govinda's juice so I have to go back to fighting for parking at Market City Foodland.

My faves are the Ginger punch w/ceyenne pepper, Orange, and Lime. Very refreshing. I buy them in the morning at sip it at my desk. Their orange juice really is fresh-squeezed ORANGE JUICE. While they're more expensive than Minute-maid, Tropicana, and other industrial-made juices, I pick quality over anything else. Govinda's is just da bes'.

It's good to know that they take sanitation so seriously. There seems to be so much in the news lately regarding foodborne illnesses. Every company dealing with food has the responsibility to protect the public health, not just because of potential damage to their business, but also because it's the right thing to do.

I've tried lots of other orange juices before, but Govinda's is, by far, the best.

Govinda's juice made out on this forum.:)

I'm not sure where Market City Foodland is at, but I'll check it out. It sounds like some place close to Diamond Head?

Many of these big stores because of their dealing with huge wholesalers cut the little guys out like maybe Govinda's juice for example.

Read the History of Henry Kaiser. Well it hasn't change at all from those days.

Actually, years ago when I shopped at Safeway Beretainia, they had Govinda's Juices. Funny how just one product can influence where one shops. The new Safeway on Kapahulu is beautiful and has almost everything, but, no Govinda's juice...

And Von in Aiea, Market City is at the top of Kapiolani Boulevard at King as it turns into Harding. Easy to find, take the King Street exit off the freeway and you run right in to it.

Interesting. I haven't seen that on the market. I guess I have to go to the hotels to have it.

Buffalo, NY - Govinda's juice is Amazing! Far better and fresher tasting than other "natural" juice I've tried. I especially like that, they squeeze it fresh each morning, they take the time to preserve the nutients and the extensive job they do to ensure sanitation. The pineapple and carrot are my favorites and soooo good I wish I could get them daily and I don't miss a day on a trip to Hawaii. It is indeed most "pleasing to the senses."

All the more reason locals should support and ensure that local businesses thrive...if not for themselves but for visiting tourists alike. It also helps keep the money in the local economy. I wish I had an operation like Gorvinda's Fresh Juices and wish them continued success. Looks like I've got something to look forward to on my next trip to Honolulu! Aloha!

Stop by Don Quijote. They got the entire section and with the quick turn over you'll find the freshness product. And their prices are terrific!

Ginger Rush is my favorite!

I thought they were affiliated with the vege place near Nuuanu... don't they call their drink ginger rush also?

Completely agree about supporting local business and keeping the funds in the state. But also wish they used more local stuff.
