We could use the jobs given the do-nothing Mayor Mufi who hasn't done a single thing for us Aloha Air line workers except offer us a chance to sing Karaoke with him. Who ever heard of that?

First good news that I heard of all year long.

I personally gave up already which is very unusual for me.
Yet the oil prices have been going down a little. If we could start drilling for oil in the USA which we are, but not fast enough then I would be happy. We have to get that oil price down.

Somebody is running against the Mayor so there are signs of life out there.

Wake me up this time next year.

Whole Foods is a great place to work. I work at the Arlington, TX store and have been here for over 8 years. Competitive pay and great benefits will only serve to further entice more kama'aina's to join the Whole Foods Market family.
I am a Waipahu expatriate living in TX for over 10 years. I would like to return home one day, but that is still speculation. For the time being, my adopted home is treating me fine...and Whole Foods is a big part of that good treatment.
As Jim Leahey used to always say at the end of the broadcast day: "Malama Ka'aina"....I think this fully demonstrates Whole Food's commitment, not only to the communities they serve, but to the worldwide community as well.

I have been waiting for Whole Foods to open here for soooo long. I hope it will open the eyes of the many residents who currently shop at Down to Earth and make them realize how Down to Earth has taken advantage of them with their exorbitant prices all these years.

And yes, we could certainly use the extra job opportunities their opening will generate.

Now if we could only get a Trader Joe's, too.

Yes, it is about time to get organic food at reasonable prices here in Hawaii. Why has it taken so long to get here? Thank you, Whole Food!
On a recent trip to Calif. and shopping at a similar store, I was shock to see the prices for organic food there in Calif. is so much more reasonable than here in Hawaii, almost the same prices as our regular food here. What the heck is going on here in Hawaii? I know people think it is paradise here, but it is high price hell really.

The people commenting about our local health food stores "ripping people off" are off base. I don't work for any of them, but I do know several of them are barely holding on. The prices they charge are contingent on what is being charged to them by the suppliers. Shipping in the merchandise is expensive. Most of these companies are small and can't match the buying power of a Whole Foods.

Opinion: Whole Foods is smart to not open up in West Oahu. Only the liquor stores do well out there.
