I see homeless pissing in Ala Moana Beach Park every single time I walk ACROSS the park.

Wake up Lingle. Homeless pissing and taking dumps on the Leeward Coast is NOT an emergnecy condition. Get out of you bubble and stop acting like a knuckle-head.

OHA should be closed down as it is illegal. Like totally so. Only in hawaii is this racial discrimination allowed and rewarded. Bizarro land.

Pomai:
I hear you but don't agree.
In 1993, under Gov. Waihee, the State provided OHA with $135.6 million dollars in cash in partial settlement of the very same debt owed by State to OHA, ie the revenues from ceded lands.

In 2008, the State and OHA attempted to bring up to date the debt owed by the State for ceded lands revenues and proposed $200 million in land and cash.

So add the $136 million to the $200 million proposed, and the partial settlement would have been $336 million for back revenues from 1979 when the State Constitution and HRS required the State to pay a pro rata share of the revenues it was receiving from ceded lands.

For going forward State agreed to $15.1 million annually until the legislature raised the amount based in increases in revenues.

Pomai your account of what happened in the settlement is incomplete and inaccurate. Do your homework. The settlement is for the good of Hawaiians not only today for the future.

Opportunity lost? If the settlement was approved by the legislature and $200 million received and invested by OHA, by this time next year Hawaiians would have realized an increase conservatively of $10 million in the trust corpus.

You confuse this settlement with the claims that Hawaiians can bring for wrongful overthrow and annexation and funds owed to Hawaiians prior to 1978 con-con which created OHA.

Those claims have nothing to do with this settlement. Pure ignorance on your part.
