pineapple farming sucks the land, good to see some of it going, the more the merrier, the company should continue to move towards organic sustainable methods, there are many crops they could grow that would be profitable and they could keep the workers busy,

I bet 15% of their lands are soon taken out of AG and put into development.

As long as the ag land is used for diversifying crops, and they're edible, not like the seed crops growing out there on the N. Shore, I'm for it, but let's not forget to think about how to use the pinapple plant excesses to potentially use as ethanol, not after the fact like was thought about when the sugarcane mills were already dismantled and sent overseas.

Hey Klinton, thanks for NAFTA. It's said you can buy pineapple from Central America and ship it here cheaper than you can produce it here. Never mind we have no idea of what pesticides and soil additives are being used.

Let's hope they don't turn the fields into tract homes.....

I think MLP has an organic farm. I hope people support it-we need more locally grown food in Hawaii

I miss having cans of pineapple labeled "100% Hawaiian". I very seldom buy canned pineapple since you discontinued canning pineapples. I am an avid drinker of your Hula Girl pineapple juice and hope you will continue to can the naturally sweet juice. There is no sweeter pineapple than Maui Gold. I've tried others, they can't compare. I worked at MLP for almost 11 years but never got tired of eating pineapple--just love them (not the imported ones, though). Good luck in your endeavors.

I haven't seen a can of pineapple labeled Hawaiian in years. You are right nothing beats the taste of Hawaiian pineapple. I live in Indiana and they are NOT found here. But I do remember how tasty they were. I hope some one will still grow them in Hawaii.
