A bunch of sour grapes.
The people that are fighting the superferry are the same ones that don't want any change. A bunch of Luddites. If there needs to be a new environmental impact statement everytime there is a new form of ship coming in, where are the impact statements for the new cars, jets, and other boats. How about the impact statements for new businesses and residents even if they are using an existing structure, road or ???
Get real. These complainers just want to keep their little corner to themselves and make everyone else pay for it.
Anyone that has ridden the superferry or used it to transport materials knows that it beats the other transportation venues hands down (unless you have a private plane.)
Sure, it takes 3 hours to get to Maui, but how long does it take to park your car, wait through security, etc. to catch a flight? Nearly 3 hours.

WONDERFUL NEWS! Our local travelers can circulate our economy with the Superferry for interisland weekend getaway's. Kudo's to Kauai's new mayor for his insight to boost Kauai's economy. Forget those hand full of protestors...selfish insights, they should live on Molokini or maybe Kahoolawe? or maybe go back from where they came from? LOL

Wrong use of insight.

From Wikipedia: "An insight that manifests itself suddenly, such as understanding how to solve a difficult problem, is called with a German word Aha-Erlebnis. The term was coined by the German psychologist and theoretical linguist Karl Bühler. It is also known as an epiphany."

Who's riding it now? The SF is losing money and will lose more if it runs to Kauai.

Interesting that no where in any of the news stories written or in this blog is the name "Barry Fukunaga" mentioned. He was the DOT Harbors chief who is responsible for making the decisions to make the improvements that are now be criticized by the state auditor. He is now Linda's Chief of Staff, possibly a reward for taking the heat on that one. According to former Chief of Staff Bob Awana, Rod Haraga, whom Fukunaga tries to blame for making the decision, wasn't even included in Lingle's staff meetings at the time. Rod Haraga was banished by Lingle after she was re-elected. Connect the dots.

STOP!! All this nonsense and let the Superferry Sail. It is the best solution for the neighbor islands in this tough economic times. We had a wonderful time on the Superferry sailing to Maui to visit our family and friends. WHY DON'T YOU GO AFTER THE RAIL? The Rail will destory the Aina and the beauty of Oahu.
