5 Gotta love the whiners - the economy has gone down the tube, along comes a project to revitalize the area, but all they see is gloom! |

5 I think it will be a great assistance to the local community and to the students that will be moving into the tourism industry. See you on the trail! |

4 I'm grateful for the opportunity the new facility will provide for further employment throughout the community. Our community's economy is in need of exactly this influx of jobs and spenders to support our struggling local businesses. |

3 Who flys all the way to Hawaii to see Waikele or Miliani !!!??? The HUGE New Pediment that HRI just built across the top of the entire top of Laie Shopping Center is an EYESORE!! It blocks the view of our mountains! The new Town at Malaekahana/Gunstockranch: Retirement Community for Babyboomers from Utah/Afforbadle Housing?? will make it look like Mililani![BYUH already has 250 acres BEHIND BYUH were they can build real Affordable Housing for locals & students] The Scenic Drive along the coast to the COUNTRY is a Huge Tourist draw! HRI/BYUH is ruining it! The COUNTRY is loved by so many here !! So Sad that HRI/BYUH's management are GRABBING for $$$ & ruining the COUNTRY for all of the rest of us! |

Your statements don't make sense. Either this was initiated by HRI - not the powers that be, so no need worry - or it was initiated by the Church, but you said it wasn't. So what are you worried about!? |

2 Too bad the Mormon mayor is not insisting Hawaii Reserve takes care of the flood problems first. The hotel is located next to a very bad flood zone. That area around Naniloa Loop and PCC floods like crazy. When it floods again, residents are prepared to sue the city and Hawaii Reserves. Enough is enough. |

2 I thought big development was designated to the Ewa plan and Honolulu. This region is supposed to be rural and country with contained development. The traffic was soooooo bad last Saturday. People were driving up for the Haunted Lagoon at PCC. Traffic is already congested in Sunset area and Kaneohe side.Isn't there any common sense left? Already the ugly generic Laie shopping center looks like Waikele. Where is the mayor, the city council and the planning commission in all this? |

2 You sound like an import from Utah. For us locals, development is not the only way to provide employment and jobs. The world is the limit, now with the internet. Development benefits the contractors and owners. The jobs provided will not provide a living wage. So the cycle of poverty continues. Who are they going to hire for build the hotel? You want to bet it will be contractors from Utah or California? |

3 Hey Hauula person. Are you for real? The employees have been anticipating this for years now. Just the formal letter went out recently. Besides "Hauula Resident", what kind of jobs are you providing to the community? Whether or not locals build the hotel is an interesting topic. But the people that work there will be Hawaii residents--bringing jobs for another 100 years. I want to see your business plan Hauula Resident. |

3 This is contained development. And thank goodness for the Haunted Lagoon--isn't that a good example of what can be done here? |

3 Silly thoughts. This hotel will hopefully bring more tourists. And the development at Gunstock won't ruin the views. |
