If this region is ever to grow, prosper, and improve our lifestyle, then we need a regional airport like Gene Weed proposes. The land is available and would benefit everyone from Sedona, Camp Verde, and, oh yeah did I leave out Cottonwood? Clean up your act Cottonwood and consider everyone including the Yavapai-Apache Nation who contributes significantly to our economic society.

I disagree with this Idea because I don't want to see a shit load of air plains smogging up our air. it is bad enough as it is around here, and there has to be a better idea for improving the economy in the Verde Valley without a regional airport creating noise and smog in the air we breath.
You have seen what it is like when there is a forest fire and the smoke lingers in the Valley, so we don't need more of that from a regional airport. Thank you! but no thanks!

You seem to pre judge your conclusions on the basis of a un sientific impact of which is not applicable to the terms and conditions of what a regional airport truly contributes to pollution. In other words; you have not supported your findings or facts. I Vote yes. Why Because Flagstaff, Prescott have such an airport, and the noise - pollution impact is .0001%. They have prosperity and a higher income per capita. Can you supply a valid study-prediction of same to to the Regional airport VV Plan? Again - I vote YES.....BUT Let us study it without prejudice.

You have obviously not read Gene's paper;

http://myweb.cableone.net/fxpro/Studio57A/Ane...

My family and company has also seen his 890 page impact report. It is strictly to the facts. And he spent over 20 grand of his own money to research it. So ....WE vote: Y.E.S.

Cottonwood spent over 110,00 dollars and it addressed absolutely NOTHING.

VOTE Y.E.S.

The Cottonwood City Council, the City 'Manager?' or the Mayor itself of this town does not see the light through the end of the tunnel. WE NEED AN AIRPORT. PERIOD. The vacationing Doug Brarosh needs to resign or retire. He has NO vision or experience for the WHOLE PICTURE.

This project is better suited for the IGA, NOT a small town who "Thinks WE Can". Rottonwood is just a small fraction of WE THE PEOPLE of the Sedona-Verde Valley.

This is REGIONAL goal and a VISION that Gene Weed has seen for over 40 years.

And NO ... HE IS NOT a politician - he is a Scientist and Filmmaker, and a distinguished member of this community. His son is on the US Olympic Team http://verdenews.com/main.asp...

Most live in a small town because they like it being small.

For the ones who would like a large airport may I suggest a move to Phoenix may be in order

According to this poll, the "MOST" disagree.

Removal of the existing airports in Sedona and Cottonwood will reduce local noise and free up this property for development. No need to annex. Having a centralized airport facility will generate economic growth for the Sedona-Oak Creek - Verde Valley. Having a corporate type airport will attract service companies and increase tourism. UPS, FedEx USPS can now operate more cost effectively with a base of air support.

The end result, if managed properly, will be increased property values for everyone, without the risky venture proposed by Cottonwood, which will in effect decrease present property values.

We are a tourist based ecosystem, and the present infrastructure of transportation is antiquated and must be improved.

Second proposal in this regional development plan is to finish AZ 260 to Kingman.

Lastly, the extremely dangerous conditions of operating both airports in congested populated areas, will be totally eliminated. The noise of corporate jets taking off in Cottonwood 20 feet over these homes, makes me shiver 3 miles away.

SUMMARY
Safety

Thanks for your input.

I have studied this proposal by Gene Weed and it seems to us that he is correct. I personally resent the many aircraft flying over my house on my reservation.

Many of my tribe members are unwilling to comment, but I like for everyone in my Valley to consider "US" for a change, and as a Sovereign Nation among you -who's voice is never heard or sought, I state >

MOVE COTTONWOOD'S Airport out of my nation's sight. We resent it. It is dangerous.

Is anyone listening?

We are just as HUMAN as you.

I suggest YOU move to Nome, Alaska. It is quieter there.

i need work with a good paying job. the only way to do this here in this valley is to grow up to at least the 20th century.

Every community around us has a regional airport, and are thriving....even Nome, Alaska.

Guess its hard to figure out you move in an area that you like without wanting to change it. Now Phoenix in South of Cottonwood so you don't get lost

It's going to happen weather you like it or not. Growth is inevitable, no matter where you live.
The type of growth envisioned here is economic stability and wage increases; not demographic over populated houses 3" from each other like the Webb designed Cornville Estates and Mountain Gate disasters.

When the two airports get combined to a central location in between the three cities, then the noise and dangers they pose will dramatically decrease. Tourists will now fly into the valley from all over the globe.

Results
Increased trade, decreased stress on local roads and county budgets.

The automobile traffic will decrease and provide the lessening of the Highway 260 infrastructure to be constantly upgraded.

There is lot more to this proposal than you think.

Think of the big picture and someone else for a change.

We need an airport to serve the people. Not just the rich and famous.

Cottonwood's response was to have an 'Airport Appreciation Day'. What a farce and a wast of time. That airport is antiquated and dangerous. Remove it.

There are federal funds to accomplish this task.

Anyone listening?

What a lame excuse! In any other country in the world, people who are conquered arent even given land. You would assimilate or you would perish in other countries. Here you are given land and education and tax free income. What does being human have to do with anything? We are all human and trying to learn how to serve all of us better and live as comfortably as possibly.

I suggest YOU get with the program! Quit trying to set yourselves apart.

Dear Laughing:
I fail to see your point. What does all your narrow mindedness and extreme prejudice toward this mans ethnic origins and opinions have to do with building a regional airport?

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Pisces

If you-know-who has been getting on your nerves recently, matters will soon come to a head and force you to take drastic action. As Mars turns tail in your sixth house, you might finally lose your rag with someone at work who's been testing your patience to the limit. Stand your ground if you feel you're being messed about in some way. Clear the air if needs be, but don't create a really nasty atmosphere by throwing an eye-popping tantrum. Take care of any infections.
