I looked up the word micromanagement on the web Wikipedia. Somewhat embarrassing.

Mayor Cook whose daughter married Judge Bill Moody's son, the same mayor who appointment David Escobar the implicated potential corruption person who was replaced by Larry Medina the man who is determined to stay in Public office even after losing race after race keeps getting appointed to places. This Mayor was told to replace the entire housing board but instead chooses Steve Blanco an ex kemp smith attorney who practiced with Bob Blumenfeld the attorney who represented the Housing Board when Pablo accused Kenya of giving her boyfriend the bids to millions. Appoints Sam Legate the partner of Jim Scheer who got all those great tax incentives and rebates for a Hotel that is still sitting there waiting for more city rebates. Also appoints Stuart Scwhartz another attorney to oversee the board that he has been told to replace to find out what that this nice Mayor did nothing wrong but put together a great board. What a crock...this Mayor appointment other attorneys who know each other and are still linked to each other to include the new Housing Authority Director Gerry Cichon an attorney for the EPPD. Now tell me what are these attorneys going to find wrong. Nothing just that the Mayor is correct in keeping all these crooks together. Too many lawyers overseeing what other lawyers are doing if you ask me and then topped off by a Mayor related and involved with other lawyers? When is this Mayor's term up we need to replace him with a real Lawyer.

You don't need a lawyer to be mayor, you need someone who has common sense and can tell you what corrupt looks like.

well seeing that the mayor appointed 4 out of 5 people who are lawyers maybe they can help him figure it out. of course if not they can at least help with his donations next year when he runs for mayor again

If I'm around next election I plan on running. I mean why not. I get to play king and hire who I want and get what I want and on top of that to be a success all I will need to do is build a new park and request a rollback tax bond of 15 percent.:)

In el paso the powers of corruption are divided by two factions. The Luther Jones camp of people and the Elliot Shapliegh camp of people. Since Luther's people seem to have taken a hit with this small accusations of corruption it has now given the Shapliegh people a reason to step up. Why do you think there are people that are actually challanging the 65th district judge who was drinking on the job and the 409th judge who fired his male employee to hire the young girl. The 65th judge is tied to Sonny Garcia who is being sued by the County for being paid millions of dollars to do work for the 65th and he never did anything. I find this amusing because on Thursday Judge Chavez of the 65th District Court had a fund raiser at Pelicans and all the judges that are on the bench now were there talking about what a great man he was, all I could do was shake my head as I waited for a table.

Let me correct you on the 65th Judge. He was originally charged with sexual harrassment. At the end of the investigation the best they did (notice I said the best they did) was state that we was drinking on the job. The board further stated that there was not enough evidence to charge him with sexual harrassment.

I don't know, but where I come from perception is a big deal and if the 65th is given a black eye, the person responsible should be made to resign or take a less visible job.

I mean a while back (years back) a lawyer who became a judge was removed from his judgeship because he sexually harrassed the employees. He is now back practicing law in ELP.

yes and as you can see his behavior was marveled to the point that another questionable city council representative who has her own set of morals and ethics in question chose to retain him to represent her best interests. Just goest to show you that in El Paso no matter how badly you soil your reputation your ganga continues to protect you. As for the 65th district judge it was more than a sexual harrassment claim and rumors that have plaqued this man over the years I can only hope that the good citizens of El Paso are remined of this behavior and do not vote for him just because they have seen his name on the ballot unchallanged over the years much like Paul Moreno's name has been.

I think ELPASOANS should request that the U.S. military take over ELP and help it create a democratic republic that serves the community, unlike the demoratic thiefs we have today.
