laying off 5 thats all, what a joke. They are not laying off any just like the rumor Cook County Sheriffs Police are taking over..Gerry M got a car from the Village?? Thats nothing just shows you the depth of the Village. Why does he need a car? But on the other hand Village vehicles are handed out to just about all Village employees as a bonus life is great in Justice

Though police are probably the biggest part of a muncipality's budget, they really should be the last thing to cut. Police have a tough job working difficult hours and dealing with the worst society has to offer. If anyone should get a take home car, it should be them instead of some washed up computer hack who does not have the creditials or talent to deserve what he is getting.

Talk about cars. How is that the Chief of Police gets an SUV that he uses to take his sons little league team to games. Take in a family vaction out of state. Oh, that's right it wasn't paid with Village fund, the drug money did.
When is the last time since election has he worked a full day. Something ain't rite
The fact is the Police dept. has purchased the last (4) Police cars through the "click it or ticket " program and using the drug funds through seizures. The Village has not given a dime towards anything and the P.D. has been working on a decreased budget every year. So the people that state the police work on a Million plus budget every year are crazy!!! Without the Police bringing in hundreds of thousands of dollars every year through the above program and " Village sticker" violaters just to name a few areas of revenue that the Village gets, without nothing in return. Do you think the County would bring in any moneys ??? The answer is NO......... they can't even patrol Sterling Estates, and you think the Trace is a War zone now !!!

What about the salaries of the police officers? What about the benifits the officers get? What about the cost of the police pension? Are you forgetting these cost? Well these cost are roughly 85 percent of the police budget. Estmated cost about $2.6 million. So your facts don't hold any water

Combine this with the fact that at least 2 of the sergants on the force are pain lazy and count the days until they can retire. Plus a couple of useless officers that can't be terminated because of the union contract, justify having a discussion about getyting rid of or reducing the police dept. On a side note the chief and his staff should be commended for the efforts they put forth in earning the grant money fot the cars

There were only two vehicles from click n ticket. The other two were purchased drug funds which is legal. But with the $300k they can pay salaries or they could use that to offset the cost of Health Care. If you work and want medical you should be required to pay at least half. The budget numbers are probably not right since the chief has a thing going with someone in the front office.

And who do you think is going to pay for the County ? It's not free, and they make alot more then these officers do. I know every suburb in my area is broke. The only town with county patrol is Ford Heights, and thats because the force was crooked. If every town that has budget problems called upon the county to patrol, don't you think it would have been done ? How many towns use the County to patrol.( thats just stupid) Every town has it's lazy cops or 20 year plus waiting to retire, not just Justice. The fact remains that the Village does not tax half of the town (the good half) for fire protection and they are afraid to put it on the ballot cause they will lose votes. Most towns levy is at around 6 or 7& whats Justice ? Every suburb in Ill. pays for fire protection on the thier property tax bill. What does Justice pay ? See don't pick on the Police dept. cause the Village Goverment can't Goven right !!

Caaar 54 Wheeere aaare Youuu. How Sweet It Is. You have to admit that Police Officers hours are rough, and you always are going to have that ten percent that is dead wood in any municipality; unioun or non-union. Our PD does their best with what they have. Nuff said.

Start taxing the north end town for the fire protection, why should the other areas have to pay but not them. This will never happen because all the board members except one lives on the north side of town. The cost of County will be higher in the long run, and who the hell would want them, ask the residents of Sterling Estates. It was great to see the Justice Police Department finish number 1 in the whole state two years in a row for "click it or ticket" and second this year. I know the Commander that runs it year after year takes great pride in it.

I can understand the (JPD) Justice Police Department working with the community because it's their job, and most of the time they do it well. However, the (JPD)Justice Park District on the other hand, is full of political hacks from the PVP and the director is some political outsider from Berwyn, and only in it for $33K, that he has been able to con the community out of for the last two years. The only thing they share, and I must add, unfortunately, is the acronym.(JPD)

Justice spends phantom funds. How Sweet It is, for political hacks.

He needs more trunk space for all that baseball gear and luggage for those out of state trips while using village gas. I hear that the drug funds is like his personal checking account! Why do the officers work 12 hours a day when the Chief and a Deputy Chief work less then 5 hours a day. Something isn't right!!!

Hooka Bars, to bad we don't have a Military Base close by these guys love these places.
Heard that Rusch has some creative legal financing for the village. Kinga supposedly said, she wanted to know. Maybe the chief is going to give the village a loan from his bank account or maybe the deputy chief will get the white sox to come out and play a game of ball to raise money
