Significant ice accumulations certain Sunday through Monday Morning.

Freezing rain, possibly mixed with sleet, will begin late Sunday morning and continue through Sunday night before changing to rain by Monday mid morning.

Main impact; The potential exists for ice accumulations in excess of a quarter to a third of an inch.

Other impacts; Ice accumulations on trees and power lines will weigh them down, and with increasing winds, will result in widespread power outages, especially throughout at least 90% if not more of all residential neighborhoods. All residents are urged to take every precaution possible, not if, but When you lose power. Generators are to be used in an outdoor area only. Do not burn charcoal inside your house, as it produces lethal carbon monoxide.

Looks like Chicagoland has dodged another bullet with the dreaded Ice Storm. However, there's no way of knowing how lucky Chicagoland might be next time.
