Wow, let's see what Artie does with this. Just a slap and then banished to the out-parcels on Forest Hill or a created fake title and a small department for the adminstrator.

Art never forces the hand of administrators...he "understands" being charged with something. Too bad teachers do not get the same benefits...it's usually straight out the door for them.

With so many people complicit in this trickery, it is surprising information didn't leak earlier.

That school needs to be re-staffed to set a different tone from the TOP to the bottom.

she should be fired immediately but she will be reassigned to the Glades where nobody cares about anything there.

She just helped make Artie's number. Who is kidding who, she gets a $30k teacher and Artie gets 24 students times $7,000 per student. Not a bad haul for two education majors.

"Give all your 'no-show' students a C as their final grade, and make sure you give them a conduct score as well. Every student on your roster has to have a final grade and a conduct score."

If this was said then the Principal should be removed from the school at once and fired. Dr. Johnson has not done this already? He should be fired unless he does this right away. Keeping her in the job says he supports her quote.

If only everyone really knew what goes on behind the closed doors there...

Speaking of doors, she has two in her office after knocking a wall down to open the conference room.

It's quite a shame that efforts by teachers who knew the truth and what was right and did set this action (audit) are now just paying off. A new staff is needed, from top to bottom.

And now, kids, our FCAT Word of the Day: Corruption. It is:
A. A vice-president using the war to enrich his compan
B. A governor using public money to pay for "call girls"
C. A principal counting kids present to get more money for her school and for herself (principals' salary is proportionate to the number of students)
D. All of the above
This was a good FCAT lesson, kids!

The headline reads "Jupiter middle school principal accused of inflating attendance..." given that there is a Jupiter Middle School,I assumed that was the school in question. Wouldn't there be a better headline that would not lead one to think that a different school in under investigation?

Despite the adjustment to retain an additional teacher, IMS does not have a teacher to student ratio of 22:1 for core subject areas. The state has commented that since the school is considered a NCLB school that the ratio does not apply.

Teachers should not be held responsible for the actions of their administration. For those of you who think the entire school needs to be re-staffed, you're crazy! That would be like exiling all people who originally voted for the Bush Administration just because they didn't do anything to stop him from making so many horrible and unconstitutional decisions!

As a former Government audit Manager I would say the audit recommendations are tempered to Superintendent Johnson to allow him to weasel out of any firm strong action. What good is a pledge?

One of the recommendations should be, that any school district employee falsifying or aiding in falsifying any school records (remember here that the teachers also participated in this fraud) should be terminated and that his/her pension be revoked.
Their code of ethics should be revised to include this in their standards of conduct and starting this year it should be enacted. To the District auditor ,I State that your recommendations are worded to save your job at the expense of the taxpayers and all the other school staff who are performing to the high standards that should be in place.

As a teacher at the accused school let me tell you that we have been trying to get rid of our administration since they started here in 2004. Not all of us are crooks and many of us have been here since the school opened. The principal is very crafty and has hoodwinked many people. She is very vindictive so we have had to watch our own backs as well. Trust me - this is just the tip of the iceberg.

As a teacher at this school I wonder why she is allowed while being investigated. If this was a teacher they would be removed right away. This principal has taken a highly rated middle school to a school making headlines for misrepresentation. Unlike the news is stating this was only to keep an assistant principal. The school is out of control and it all starts at the top. I just am sorry to see such wonderful teachers being associated with this mess as they only did what they were told to do by a person who never has stood behind her staff!

maybe if she had "relations" with a student she'd be fired. That's about what it takes these days.

Parents in the North Area of the County might use this as a wake-up call. Image and reality can be very
different!! Does anyone know of any attempt by the school to allow parents to ask questions?
