I'm getting tired of anti-FPL stories; they're just a punching bag for reporters who want to drum up an easy scarecrow to attack. Everyone loves to beat up on energy companies; if they weren't there reporters would need something real to report on.

There are 3 divisions in FPL GROUP!

FPL Group reports record earnings for full year 2008, primarily on the strength of an excellent year for NextEra Energy Resources
Florida Power & Light Company earnings down for quarter and full year;exercises prudent cost management in difficult Florida economy

NextEra Energy controls the assets in other states. FPL Utlity is who you over pay for leaving all your lights and computers on all night!

Really folks: if you're concerned about your electricity bill, maybe try using a little less. Energy markets are complicated, but this Florida utility is bringing the juice into your sockets so you can watch TV and it they are also diversifying into clean energy.. I don't see the problem here.

If you look at the earning report, It's FPL Group's profits that are so high. This doesn't necessarily have a direct reflection on Florida Power and Light, which is just a part of FPL Group. It seems kind of silly to jump on the FPL-bashing wagon when most of those profits came outside of Florida Power and Light.
