So Much More than Folk Music

We live in Metlakatla, AK and took the ferry from Ketchikan to Juneau; it was a fabulous, relaxing journey. We went to the folk festival each night until it was time for the ferry to take us home; it was amazing! We loved every minute from the beginning to the end act each night. We've never seen so many violins in our entire lives! I think the author meant to say that there were new presenters every 15 minutes--an unbelievable number over the course of the week.
Our one suggestion would be to leave out the politics; music unites, politics divide. The political presentation was funny and clever, but the stranger sitting next to us was of opposing political views, and we could see that the evening turned a bit sour for her at that point. Since not everyone sees eye to eye on political matters, why not just stick with creative spoofs and presentations that don't offend people or ruin their exhilaration of the folk festival.
Even though we are moving back to the lower 48 soon, we are going to try to go back to the folk festival next year--sooo much fun. We highly recommend the folk festival and look forward to next year. Well done, organizers and musicians!
