So, they pulled my 'Goldbelt Greed' thread. No big deal. As long as there's an internet, I'll rail against the abuse of power by the goldbelt board of directors.
How many folks got a screwed up proxy? My daughter and I got mis-numbered proxy statements. It had her holding 100 shares, when she only has 25. They had mine at 100 as well, even though my father willed me fifteen shares upon his death.
The I find out that If you corrected the number, and voted with it anyway, the proxy would count, but you didn't qualify for any of the prizes. Makes me wonder if they screwed it up on purpose, in an attempt to slant the odds of winning a prize to either their family members, or their friends.
It's not difficult to do, all you have to do is instruct the computer to misprint proxy numbers XXX, through XXXY, and give OOO, MMM and LLL the right numbers, making them eligible for the prizes.
It wouldn't surprise me at all. the board of directors have always acted like mere shareholders didn't 'deserve' anything from the corporation.
I'm betting that they didn't tell the shareholders at large that the yellow proxies were ineligible.
MY son worked at the tram for years, and told me last year that it was Paid In Full by mid-summer. They took an extra coffee break to toaste the event. Funny, they never mentioned it in any of their mail-outs. Like the cruise shiup that sank some years back. They're squirrelling away the profits, and making plans for BIG bonuses for each of them, and the sharehoders will get to 'cheer them on', while they cash their bonus checks.

Some years ago, an ex Board Of Director gave a speech saying that because of the cvorruption of the board, Goldbelt Corporation should be turned into a holding company, run by government appointed handlers. The objective was to end paying inept fools and crooked jackasses to run the company. The shareholders would still have a say in what the company would buy, and the profits would be shared in a sixty/forty, or seventy/thirty split, with the le4ssor number going back into the company, and the monetary profit would be given to the shareholders.
I think that this system would be infinately better than having these idiots running the show giving themselves raises, free vacations, and so many perks that they wipe out any profit that the cdompany generates now.
And I still wonder why the government has ignored the blatant robbery of the insurance money on the sunken ship. Again, goldbelt said that it wasn't insured, and that the whole operation was lost down the drain.
That's BUNK! No company can load any vehicle with 'X' amount of passengers, and then transport them anywhere without insurance, filed with the department of transportation, the local government, and with the Coast Guard. It simply cannot be done. So, what haqppened to the forty or fifty million dollars that came from the insurance?
You think it doesn't matter? Think about this: If the money was recovered, it would mean about one thousand, five hundred dollars per one hundred shares. If you don't neeed that kinde of money, go ahead and shrug your shoulders and walk away. But, ifr that money was divided up between the board ofr drectors in secret, that comes to about eight million dollars per director. Have any of these idiots earned their pay, let alone an extra eight million deollars?
I had a guy looking into it, but he got transferred out of the division, and I have no other contacts at that office.
But, I don't need to do this myself. Any One of you can go to goldbelt and ask for Written proof that there was no insurance, and if they deny your request, then you can take them to court to force them to prve their claim.
The ex director gave the speech in 1994, and nothing has changed since.
