I don't think unions are the answer for every workplace, but why the school district employees don't organize is incomprehensible. The district is dropping more than two million for capital outlays (including buying used mobile homes), yet no raises for classified employees this coming year.
Yes, you'll pay dues, but which is better- keep all of 8 dollars an hour, or pay 3% of 12-15 dollars an hour for the ability to use your few paid days off at your choice, paid every other Friday, no more answering phones or doing other district work on your lunch break, and having a voice in matters that directly affect you?
Probably just the threat to organize would accomplish several tasks, including causing kramer to perspire violently. I guess you can lead a horse to water...
Don't worry the Union and Contract are NOW set in stone.

GCA is a evil company managers are bitches to Marcie Teenor. There is no money saved just a escape goat for someone to blame when things go bad. We need a strong superintendent who can manage the people under him that can manage sub groups with in the school district. I dont blame GCA I blame the weak administrators we continue to carry and will there pockets. We have vehicle with millions of miles and machines on there last leg

GCA is responsible for saving the district tons of money. And they did it by slashing wages down to just barely over minimum wage for the custodial staff. The maintenance staff took a hard hit also with some individuals losing up to $4.00 per hour in pay. Tony Hohman came in and started firing people and hiring in his friends only to promote them to supervisor positions shortly after. That's how the current grounds supervisor got to where he is. I hope all of Tonys friends out there in the district are shaking in their boots right now wondering if they're going to be next. Some of them would be deserving of what they got. Just like Tony is.

Walker is on his way out next and the district should do some house cleaning after his exit starting with whoever is in charge of managing the districts bank accounts and credit cards. It'll be interesting to see how the chips fall. The king will be dethroned and a new dictator will be crowned. Bye now ya hear!

Tony Homan was a cheat and a sexist snake. He deserves everything he gets along with all the other snakes working with GCA...aka Troy Geike who has no problem turning his back on all claims of good morals when money is involved. That entire system (from the superintendent all the way down) is corrupt as shit.

Brady and Steve are two of his closest running buddies. I've heard that Brady is working with him again already.

I used to work for Brady.....he was a straight dude and a great boss. I heard he left GCA because he was tired of all the B.S. throughout the district.
