That's ok. Life is good. The sun will come up tomorrow, and life will still be good.
On Monday morning, undocumented workers will punch in at your plant, work 60 hours for a straight $5 p/h as contract labor, be happy to get a check for $300 Friday night, toss their 1099 Form in the trash next month, and move on, only to be replaced by others glad to replace them. You got it made, Mike.

You do realize that you are an accessory after the fact and can be held accoutable for not reporting these illegals to the INS, right?

And as much as the person doing the hiring or employing these illegals, you with your knowledge of such things and your avoidance to report are just a guilty and just as ignorant.

I suggest that you might want to get on the phone to clear your name and right quick.

Or you could just post your bullshit on topix.

I guarantee you for every one of those there are 10,000 who get something because of whose crotch they came out of at birth.
The funny thing is this ship WILL right itself. The unions and their employers will be out of work and business soon enough.
Hardly. Not every worker is as craven as you are.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt:
It is one of the characteristics of a free and democratic nation that it have free and independent labor unions.

If any man tells you he loves America, yet hates labor, he is a liar. If any man tells you he trusts America, yet fears labor, he is a fool.
-- Abraham Lincoln

"History is a great teacher. Now everyone knows that the labor movement did not diminish the strength of the nation but enlarged it. By raising the living standards of millions, labor miraculously created a market for industry and lifted the whole nation to undreamed of levels of production. Those who attack labor forget these simple truths, but history remembers them."

Why does a grown man need a union. If they are good and hard working they don't need a union. Unions are for lazy people plan and simple. Next time you see someone in a union just assume they are a lazy bottom feeder. Because they are ruining the country.

A grown man doesn`t need benefits, health care, vacations, fair pay, safe work conditions, overtime pay, or paid holidays. That stuff is for sissies. Give me minimum wage, contract labor pay for 72 hours a week any day.

Abraham Lincoln was assasinated in 1865.

"The American Federation of Labor, founded in 1886 and led by Samuel Gompers until his death in 1924, proved much more durable. It arose as a loose coalition of various local unions. It helped coordinate and support strikes and eventually became a major player in national politics, usually on the side of the Democrats."

Abraham Lincoln would have been anti-union all the way.

"The prudent, penniless beginner in the world, labors for wages awhile, saves a surplus with which to buy tools or land, for himself; then labors on his own account another while, and at length hires another new beginner to help him.

This, say its advocates, is free labor---the just and generous, and prosperous system, which opens the way for all---gives hope to all, and energy, and progress, and improvement of condition to all."

The Collected Works of Abraham Lincoln edited by Roy P. Basler, Volume III, "Address before the Wisconsin State Agricultural Society, Milwaukee, Wisconsin" (September 30, 1859), pp. 478-479.

I`m sure he would have. He wasn`t anti-slavery, either contrary to popular belief. Anybody who is anti-union would have been pro-slavery back in the day. Only reluctantly did Lincoln sign the Emancipation Proclamation, and more for political reasons than moral ones.

Here are some quotes attributed to Abraham lincoln

see in the near future a crisis approaching that unnerves me and cause me to tremble for safety of my country; corporations have been enthroned, an era of corruption in High Places will follow, and the Money Power of the country will endeavor to prolong its reign by working upon the prejudices of the People, until the wealth is aggregated in a few hands, and the Republic destroyed.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN, letter to Col. William F. Elkins, Nov. 21, 1864

Labor is prior to, and independent of, capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if Labor had not first existed. Labor is superior to capital, and deserves much the higher consideration.—Abraham Lincoln

All that harms labor is treason to America.—Abraham Lincoln

I am glad to see that a system of labor prevails under which laborers can strike when they want to.—Abraham Lincoln

He sounds like a union supporter to me

Today in America, unions have a secure place in our industrial life. Only a handful of reactionaries harbor the ugly thought of breaking unions and depriving working men and women of the right to join the union of their choice. I have no use for those -- regardless of their political party -- who hold some vain and foolish dream of spinning the clock back to days when organized labor was huddled, almost as a hapless mass. Only a fool would try to deprive working men and women of the right to join the union of their choice.—Dwight D. Eisenhower

The American Labor Movement has consistently demonstrated its devotion to the public interest. It is, and has been, good for all America.—John F. Kennedy

If a free society cannot help the many who are poor, it cannot save the few who are rich.—John F. Kennedy

If I went to work in a factory, the first thing I'd do would be to join a Union.—Franklin D. Roosevelt

It is to the real advantage of every producer, every manufacturer and every merchant to cooperate in the improvement of working conditions, because the best customer of American industry is the well-paid worker.—Franklin D. Roosevelt

It is time that all Americans realized that the place of labor is side by side with the businessman and with the farmer, and not one-degree lower.—Harry S Truman

Our labor unions are not narrow, self-seeking groups. They have raised wages, shortened hours, and provided supplemental benefits. Through collective bargaining and grievance procedures, they have brought justice and democracy to the shop floor.—John F. Kennedy

Pope Paul VI:
The important role of union organizations must be admitted: their object is the representation of the various categories of workers, their lawful collaboration in the economic advance of society, and the development of the sense of their responsibility for the realization of the common good.

Martin Luther King Jr

"Although it is true that only about 20 percent of American workers are in unions, that 20 percent sets the standards across the board in salaries, benefits and working conditions. If you are making a decent salary in a non-union company, you owe that to the unions. One thing that corporations do not do is give out money out of the goodness of their hearts."

Molly Ivins

Today, although there are still sweatshops and other inhumane working conditions for many workers around the world, the labor movement has won numerous victories that many of us take for granted, such as the 5-day work week, 8-hour work day, paid holidays and the end of child labor.
-- Robert Alan

Never forget, people DIED for the eight hour workday.

No, it's called the American system. One group makes a suggestion another group opposes it, the one with the more convincing argument wins.
