Who is clearing Miller Drive? It is the only street in JC that is not an emergency route that I've seen plowed. If the city is clearing this street, I think a call to our manager is in order.

They do Emergency Routes First. All non emergency routes are last or won't be plowed. I live in a Circle St.(non emergency route) never plow. So the only thing I can say is do what my neighbors and I do. We help each other out. If you don't know your neighbors, now is a good time to start.

The residents of Miller Parkway employ me to plow their driveway. They pay handsomely because they can afford it. Life is good when you are rich.

Most city streets haven't been cleared. Looks like a typical failure of JC to provide basic services. Great job by our ever worthless city commission. Our street is a mess. But after all these years I'm used to it.

Just go buy a four wheel drive vehicle and then all the snow is no problem. I'm willing to bet all these idiots bitching about street clearing are driving Honda civics or Toyota Priuses.

Get off your lazy asses and clean you driveways and around your car if you park in the street. How are the snow plows supposed to clear the streets if you park there. Whine, whine, whine. Get a job, do something besides sitting at home and doing nothing!

Maybe to you but when you need someone to pull your stupid Honda out of 10 inces of snow because you cant drive in it you will be thankful for my 4WD and tow cable and my willingness to help you for free. I'm bettin you are one of those people who looks down on country folks while sitting at your dinner table eating what we produce.

Cause you canít starve us out and you canít make us run
Cuz we're them old boys raised on shotgun
And we say grace and we say Maíam
And if you ainít into that we donít give a damn

And a country boy can survive!

Does anyone even know why a street is a emergency snow route or not ? Why would some streets have this signage ?
Well I for one read the City's Snow and Ice Policy It is on the City website. I encourage one to read it. Great job to the City staff whom had the where if all to set this in place. Without there is no reason to plow one street before another. And just because a street is signed a snow emergency route doesn't mean it is plowed first. They are signed so that when a snow emergency is declared vehicles must be removed from these streets within 24 hrs. So I encourage one to read the policy as one will learn why and when they plow salt or sand our streets. Is it the best ? Not when you only have 5 trucks for 150 miles of streets.

Go here, read. Sets up what streets are priorities--and residential-cul de sacs are not. Minimal acceptable service is the standard, which is one clear snow packed lane. after that, any removal is on a cost basis.

Some plowing is paid for, or done by people who have plows as well, so a street with many wealthy people on it may simply be recieing a paid for service.

This town is so ridiculous it's hard to keep a straight face. My street was plowed twice for two inches of snow, not plowed at all for nine inches of snow. God bless our pitiful excuse for a city government.

I have lived in my house for 4yrs and there has never been a plow down my street. What does it take, I often wonder what we receive for our tax dollar's? It sure ain't city service. You have to pay for everything so what do we really get other than grief.
