where are our w2s? it's hard enough getting by on.your slave wages we need to get our tax returns. what's the holdup if your the boss act like it get the paperwork done l.p. l.p.

They have until Jan 31 by law. Also the Feds aren`t paying refunds until Jan 30 this year.

The IRS is not accepting returns until Jan 30th. This means even if someone wanted a rapid refund, it probably won't be paid unitl Feb 2nd. Everyone else is looking at at least Feb 7th or later before they see their refund. And news is correct, employers/companies have until Jan 31st to have W-2s in the mail, not in your hand.

But no one has to wait until the last second to mail their tax info. USD 475 has treated their lower tier employees with disdain for years. It would be a nice gesture of respect. Better yet, tell rhetta she's not the boss and order her to pay employees twice a month. But that would take backbone, and neither ron or the school board show any indication of possessing a spine.

I am pretty sure that if you dislike working for USD 475 soooooo bad, there is somebody out there that would gladly take your place.

No kidding! It sounds like someone who is going to complain no matter what. You're probably not going to find to many people who have their w2 already, especially not a larger organization.
I don't know about all places, but I know where I work we get paid every two weeks, if we went to weekly it would actually cost the business more, if we went to once a month it would save money.

USD 475 has a consistent record of poor treatment of employees. The foolish and outdated pay schedule costs the district money in high turnover and ianabilty to lure qualified employees because of the outdated pay schedule. Once a month pay plus the first check held one month creayes an unnecessary hardship for employees and families.

Why would being paid once a month cause more hardship than twice a month. You still get the same amount of money. It's called money management. If you can't do it on your own, open another bank account, when you get your paycheck say it's $1500, put $750 aside and don't touch it for two weeks.

Are you seriously saying that qualified employees are turning down jobs at the district because they only get paid once a month?
I'm also not understanding what you mean when you say they they have a check withheld every year?

Classified employees who don't work 12 months have their first check withheld every time they return to work.For folks doing their best on 32 hrs a week at maybe $8 an hr, it's a hardship. Surely we can do better than this.
Also, I forgot rhetta retired. She was replaced by another faceless droid who ignores ronny.

Are you saying that some employees work for two months before they get a paycheck? If that is the case, when they get that paycheck, does it cover two months of pay?

You are understanding it perfectly. All classified employees work two pay periods before they get paid, although if they start towards the end of the pay period, then they wait until the end of their second month for a full check. No, the pay is for the amount of time worked in the first pay period. And classified employees who work only during the school year go through this every time they are off for the summer. No wonder the person wants to get started on their tax return.

Yup, whenever I is lookin fer important tax documents, I always comes to topix and does me a post. Then I wait, and lo and behold, I always gets my stuff!

one solution is to have less taxes taken out so you can enjoy the cash during the year and not have to wait to get your hard earned money back with no interest.

Please remember that those workers who do not get their paycheck until the second pay period get one check after they completed the school year. It works out...you just have to be able to manage your money. Here is where the trouble lies!

Lie. There is a break between checks, which are withheld for 9 or 10 month employees. And why are checks held anyway? And why can't employees be paid every other week?
