"NAACP President and CEO Benjamin Jealous said Sunday, perhaps unwittingly, that black Americans “are doing far worse” than when President Obama first took office.

“The country’s back to pretty much where it was when this president started,” Mr. Jealous told MSNBC host David Gregory on “Meet the Press.”“White people in this country are doing a bit better. Black people are doing far worse.”

The black unemployment rate was 12.7 percent when Mr. Obama took office. While the unemployment rate in the U.S. as a whole is below 8 percent, the Labor Department reported the black jobless rate was up from 12.9 percent to 14 percent for December.

The worst during Mr Obama’s first term was in September 2011, with 16.7 percent unemployment for blacks — the highest since 1983, the Department of Labor reports. The black teen jobless rate hit a staggering 39.3 percent in July 2012."

too bad poor Jerry's too dense to get the context. Obama's running a center-right regime and is therefore rightfully criticized from the left.

Jealous is of course the NAACP Prez bringing it to press for gay marriage. No doubt with your stated respect for his opinions you will be aiding him in this endeavor.

This poor ass mistakes posting articles as respect for opinions, when in all reality it's simply a way to rattle the cage of our resident democrap. Most people don't give two damns about gay marriage. Its all more of Obamas desperate attempt to appeal to diverse minority groups. Remember, until it became a political hot issue, Obama was in favor of traditional marriage. Don't make out like he's some kind of hero the the gays.

“I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian — for me — for me as a Christian, it is also a sacred union. God’s in the mix.”

Yep. And all those black preachers who he courted on his run-up, the ones that gave him all that support quickly realized their error.

He just says whatever he needs to say at the time to whatever audience he is in front of. Typical Politician.

Not really. Those attacking him for that were always on the right-wing's payroll to begin with.
