Oh, was church good this morning. Our pastor is out of town and an elder preached on the Holy Ghost. My brothers and sisters in J.C., we are aware in the last days there would be a falling away. The part I think we don't think about is the impact it will have on us. When one backslides, the spirit doesn't come alone, but seven more come. When it's a pastor, the impact of that can be devastating. Oh, Job cried for His presence after the enemy devastated. Just keep walking, because joy comes in the morning. Wolves in sheeps' clothing affect your witness. Saving souls is critical to our own salvation. We have a harlot glorying in the failing of one. Romans 8:38For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. No matter what, I must be saved. Ah, that spirit devastated my life as a child. It's time, as Elder D.C. Moody says, to get some devil blood in our mouths. Let the true worshippers come forth in this time of trial. Let it rise in us as never before, because He is truly worthy. No matter what I suffer in this life, no matter my failings and shortcomings, He is still worthy!

I heard that before from Edwin, what do they want a repeat, follow him where?God didn't say to follow after man he said follow after Jesus 1st John 4:1-3 test the inspired expressions to see whether they originate with God,because many false prophets have gone forth into the world. Matthew 7:15-20 Be on the watch for the false prophets that come to you in sheeps covering, but inside are ravenous wolves. By their fruits you will recognize them. Every good tree produces fine fruit, but every rotten tree produces worthless fruit,Really, then by their fruits you will recognize those men .

Absolutely! I want to be like Elisha. He wouldn't let Elijah out of his sight. He wanted the blessing of God and he understood it would come through the man of God. That is why what Edwin Young did is so devastating. Even the law recognizes it and separates some crimes, because of the position of trust. The Bible likens us to sheep. Sheep are dumb, my friend. We will be controlled by something. Elder Dudley is a man I could follow. My pastor won't let any preacher in his pulpit. I trust him for that reason. He protects us. I want to be more like him. You see my ego isn't out of control. I need that leadership without compromise. My pastor also has men he is accountable to. A good man of God let's the Book speak from the pulpit and then lives it. There is no micromanaging. You hear it preached. He doesn't chase you down, because God is a gentleman. Gentlemen do go to battle when required and will protect those they love with all that is in them. My pastor taught me how to be man, which my father couldn't teach me. Therefore, I emulate him and, therefore emulate Christ. I was too messed up to understand on my own. 1 Cor. 1:21For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 22For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 25Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
GeV. 13:17Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
The word obey means to trust and to yield. That means Elder Dudley is right. Yield your will to your pastor. You need to make sure you have a good one. I realize in our all about me society with information at our fingertips that is balked at, but it is still in the Book. Like it, lump it, accept it, or deny it, it is still God's plan. Now, take up His cross not the one YOU have devised.

Listen all the way through the utube clip...around the 5 min mark the Bishop specifies that you follow the man only as long as he is following God. I am crushed for the families of FT that were just doing their best to live for God. They are in my prayers; they will rise above,if their faith can be restored in the ministry. If there is any hope at all of restored faith it will be accomplished by God sending the Bishop...they know him...they have watched him for the many years of being the head of KS dist UPC. I agree 100% with the clip; it is sound Bible doctrine.

What Blasphemy! Dudley SCREAMS at the people to worship HIM. Instead of Jesus. He says don't believe Jesus ("...teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:(Matt 28:19) because that's FALSE DOCTRINE.

They're going from the frying pan into the fire! Dudley tells them to follow a MAN (not Jesus) and repeatedly SCREAMS during that 14 minutes that God wants them to follow a MAN. Of course, he uses Scripture out of it's proper context to back himself up. Are we to follow Paul? Well, we know Paul had the Holy Spirit in him, right? But I have serious doubts about the spirit of Dudley.

Ask yourselves...does Dudley have the still small voice of the Holy Spirit in him or the UNHOLY spirit of Satan when he screams at the people that Jesus is wrong and HE is right! Dudley will CONTROL their lives or else THEY CANNOT BE SAVED, he says!!! What a LIE! Can you believe this? He says if you stop following a man you cannot be saved. Oh Lord. If you believe in him you don't know God (the Word) and you don't know how to discern the gentle Spirit of Jesus from the screaming spirit of a madman.

Dudley acts as if these people HAVE NO BRAIN and must be totallly controlled by HIM (instead of the Holy Spirit). He's telling them to dress like HIM, act like HIM (really?) pray like HIM, totally BE like HIM. Instead of Jesus. He tells them that watching TV is of the world....is he out of his mind!!!? Television has some of the most godly preachers and teachers in the world (Charles Stanley for one....with such a gentle spirit of teaching, oh so different from this raving lunatic screaming to control and rule others on this video).

Sorry for my rant. But my Spirit gets very troubled when it hears the spirit of Satan trying to control people with FEAR, a lot of FEAR and nothing but FEAR. He says if you're not following a MAN (not Jesus) then you cannot be saved....because a MAN (not Jesus) is your ONLY Way to salvation. This MAN Dudley is a liar just like his father, teaching doctrines of devils.

I thank God for the freedom he gave me in Jesus. I will let NO MAN control me so that he and Satan can RULE over me! I am free! You can be free too but only if you reject the spirit of FEAR and OBEDIENCE to Dudley that he instills in you! Just say NO! It's really not that hard. Move on and find a pastor who follows Jesus (not a man) and rules like Jesus ("For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light." Matt 11:30) I will pray for this congregation so deeply in bondage to man.

Please watch this Video to the bitter end....

You say, "...the Bishop specifies that you follow the man only as long as he is following God."

Well, do you think Dudley is following Jesus when he tells you NOT to baptize the way Jesus commands us to baptize, saying that Jesus' way is false doctrine? It's your choice. Man's doctrines of devils or Jesus' doctrines of God.

Again, the choice is yours...you may agree with Dudley's way and not Jesus' way if you so desire. But do me a favor....just don't teach others to disobey Jesus too.

Name is singular there. Now, I am not an English major, but I know if you're listing names you would say names of the... However, I am a father, a son, and a husband. Therefore, I have a singular name. Additionally, our church has a standing offer of $10,000 if you can point out one place in the Bible where someone was baptized that way. I will make it easy for you. The Catholic encyclopedia states this form of baptism began after the Council of Nicea in 325 a.d. Prior to that, all baptisms were in the name of Jesus Christ. Tell you what. I will send you a check and sign it Father, Son, and Husband. Tell me how that works out. The authority is in the name. Acts 4: 10Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. 11This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Col. 2:9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Buried with Him not them.
The most basic part of salvation is understanding who He is.
15But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth. 16And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
You see the church is the body today. The fullness of the Godhead rests within that body today. Sin separates us from the body. What Young did caused a separation here. Jesus Christ said He was an example of how the body should behave. He was not separate from God just as the church is not separate as long as we abide in Him. However, we must take on His name. As a man He was tempted, but as God he had dominion. It is a beautiful type of what we have available. We don't have to excuse our sub, but we can overcome through His power He gives to us.
Acts 1: 8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all JudŠa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. The word power is from the Greek word dunamis, which means ability. I am able to live without sin. Will I fail at times? Sure, but I can't make excuses and stay in sin. I can repent and have it taken away.
Mic. 7:8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
Now, what person would want to go back in the mire? I realize some do, but I would not want to go back to that place where my enemy is just tossing me about. Without His power, which comes through His name, though, that is exactly what will happen.

The yoke is in comparison to what drugs, fornication, alcohol, etc. require of you. It does not negate responsibility.

I asked my wife what she'd like for her 80th birthday. "I'd love to be six again," she said. So on the morning of her birthday, I got her up bright and early and off we went to a local theme park. What a day! I put her on every ride in the park: the Death Slide, the Screaming Loop, the Wall of Fear, everything there was! Wow! Five hours later she staggered out of the theme park, her head reeling and her stomach upside down. I took her to McDonald's and ordered her a Happy Meal along with extra fries and a refreshing chocolate shake. Then, it was off to a movie - the latest Disney and what a fabulous adventure! Finally, she wobbled home and collapsed into bed. I leaned over and lovingly asked, "Well, honey, what was it like being six again?" One eye opened. "I meant my dress size you old idiot." I'm in the dog house again.

My wife and I just recently celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. She still has that new wife smell. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. And today? Today is a gift. That's why we call it the present. One more for ya.... There are three ingredients in the good life: learning, earning, and yearning. I'm adding a fourth, sleeping. It don't rhyme but who it's important.

"Regarding Pastor Dudley" - you go to great lengths to justify your disobedience to Christ. It doesn't impress me, but it convinces me that followers of the Antichrist are just as clever as he is.

Jesus' command (formula for baptism) should not offend anyone. But it sure offends Dudley. He SCREAMED on that Video that Jesus' formula is FALSE DOCTRINE. Dudley is a faithful follower of the Antichrist, teaching you lies in opposition to the truth (Jesus).

Since Jesus and Dudley teach opposite doctrines, your choice is to believe in Jesus (the God-man) or Dudley (a god-man). Take your pick.

Also, do you really think Jesus' commands are really all that outdated? Wow....

Myth 1.1:1-2, Go ye herefore, and believe in yourself. Not in this mythical creature you call God, or the Father, or the Holy Ghost. Incidentally I give up believing in ghost around age 6. Not sure I ever believed in talking serpents providing apples to young impressionable girls. Although the idea to replicate this obviously plausible ruse did cross my mind.

Ultimately what is the point of typing all of this? To help enlighten, to change someone, to debate or argue? What's the everlasting point of it all? Seriously, I would love to know.. Let me state this pretty confidently, most of us know these scriptures verbatim. Some of us once were of the persuasion that you are. Cross referencing, using a Strong 's concordance or a Vine's dictionary, or Hebrew-Greek bible etc is unnecessary. I would like to know your POINT of why you use these familiar passages of scriptures?
You were once of this persuasion? The post was in response to a post saying it was false doctrine. I don't consider it a persuasion. My Bible says to buy the truth and sell it not. We are to study to shew ourselves approved unto God, a workman that needeth not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. Now, in response to someone stating baptism in Jesus name being false doctrine should I quote Time magazine? Maybe I should reference a one on one conversation with the editor to find out what they meant. We are talking about doctrine and the reference would be the Bible. I really don't understand your response and would suggest you are being contentious. I simply responded and did not attack the poster. Jesus satisfied questions. He was kind when He said you do err in that ye know not the scripture. It was only the money exchangers who used the church for self gain that he drove from the temple. Young did the same thing. He used women, money, and whatever else. I believe in the Apostolic doctrine including holiness. Television is ungodly. There is so much filth on that thing. Edwin Young did not truly believe in it. Holiness is not using women. He became puffed up and believed in himself. He fell, because of it. We need a humble and meek spirit.
