Veolia Water Trash Truck.

This morning, 11:15.

Truck #585.

I wish I had my damned camera with me.

Driver, white male, glasses, cell phone stuck in his ear, grinning and laughing as he tried to BACK ACROSS 2 LANES OF TRAFFIC into the Shoyer Chiropractic Clinic.

His partner, black male, hops out of the truck with HIS CELL PHONE STUCK IN HIS EAR, LAUGHING AND WAVING to his "buddy" out on the street.

Casually walks around the back of the truck, picks up a small white bag from the back of the clinic...

...BOTH STILL CHATTING AWAY ON THEIR CELL PHONES!

Unbelievable.

We are paying higher and higher rates for less and less services...

...and we have a-holes like this, on a busy street, blocking traffic and yucking it up on their cell phones instead of paying attention to business.

Yes. I realize this is a rant.

But I would VERY much like to know WHO is THE AUTHORITY in our Veolia Water and Waste company so that I can file a formal complaint.

I want our old service back.

I want the customer service that we had.

To hell with Veolia and their "rules"...they are doing nothing good for this city.

Another BAD BAD BAD decision by Rod Barnes and Company.

Especially since City Commissioner Dick Pinaire said let's put the services out for bid, but Rod and his yes boys said we must give it to Veolia- no questions asked.
I always thought that was the start of the Barnes method of city government.

One of their ruls is the trash must be at the street by a certain time. Every single time they pick it up, they place the cart in the street or better yet, in the middle of the driveway causing the customer to have to leave thier car in the middle of the street just to move the damn can. Why can't they place it in the same location they find it. On the curb, in the grass. This is absolutely ridiculous and lazy yet our bill keeos going up. When will it stop???

And Please do not place a canister without a lid out there because they will not take it. And if it does have a lid make sure you have some way to secure it to the can, I had one and can not find the lid after they emptied it, now I can not use 3 of my trash cans, two are more than 32 gallons and the the other is ok, but I dont have a lid, thinking about making one from wood.

BTW I use less water now but my bill went to $95.00. Is it because I have the can without the lid?

Bulk trash: must be bundled no more than 2 X 2 X 4ft in size and cannot weight more than a beer or the pussyfied garbage men, and I use the term "men" very loosely, cannot pick it up. Here's a hint to get rid of your bulk trash, chop it up and put it in trash bags. Why is it the girly garbage men won't pick up a few rolls of carpet cause it's too heavey but put out 35 bags along with the monster trash can and they scoop it right up.

I wanna' be a garbage man! I'm a pussy and can write notes to people telling them I can't take their trash!

Recently moved office locations, I called Veolia to set up service and was told it would be next week before we get our trash can delivered. I asked if we could come and get it, they couldnt give me a straight answer. The girl that answers the phone is sweet, but no help at all! She told me that they deliver the trash cans when they have time in between their busy schedules! Hmmmm.

They cannot bring out a trash can but they can park an employee and a trash truck on 5th St all day waiting for residents to drop off 4 tons of yard waste one bag at a time.

I've talked to that girl you speak of and agree, she's very nice, clueless, and really does not seem to care about your problem.

Since they didn't have to bid on this and have no fear of losing it to another contractor, then why should they care? They own the City and they know it.

Original contract with Veolia started in 1989. Was over in 2009, but extended until 2017 to align with the public works contract. A 28 year contract, that is crazy!
