Well, I'm concerned, if i were to pull a fully/semi automatic firearm and threatened peoples lives. Then, fire the firearm in the direction of these people, I would exspect my ass to be seating in jail. DO NOT PASS GO! DO NOT COLLECT 200.00. It's strange how if one man holds a higher position in a community he is allowed to continue on with his day to day business. Not to mention this same man shoot another man 30 odd yrs ago, and this man dies a year later due to the shooting injury....but Reynold's doesn't do no time HMMMMMMMM.....
STRANGE |

Money talks And Bull**** Walks. I think he should be in jail.Everybody should call the Prosecuting Attorneys office and Demand Justice.

Thought it had been turned over to the ASP. Which given the history of the relationship between the sheriffs office and the quorum court was the best solution to that issue. There should be an ongoing investigation by the ASP & the Prosecutor should be able to inform you of all thats going on with the matter.
Pick up a telephone make some calls speak your mind this is america you have all those rights!:) |

LOL, I'm expressing myself on this forum... As far as it being turned over to ASP, you are right, but that doesn't mean that you leave a man under going investigation of a felony on the street. Especially if that person has a concealed permit and any type of firearm on his person or in his residents. Hmmmm, Like I said in my original statement, I would be behind bars till further notice if it was me.

Well as I understand it the matter was not report to the Sheriff until several days, week after it occurred. The Sheriff done the correct thing by asking the State Police to handle it. Justice is sometimes slow. I am sure he will get his due, in due time.

So it was Jack and not his brother that shot this man? |

hummmm, according to the El Dorado News Times dated April 2, 2008, the following is a direct quote:
"On Nov. 1, 1978, Mike Kinard, 13 th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney, issued an arrest warrant for Reynolds stating that on Oct. 19, 1978, Reynolds "did unlawfully, feloniously,(a) with the purpose of causing serious physical injury to Finis Lee or another person, he caused serious physical injury to Finis Lee by means of a deadly weapon, or (b) he caused serious physical injury to Finis Lee under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life." A Union County jury found Reynolds guilty of second degree battery on March 22 ,1979 and sentenced him to 90 days in the Arkansas Department of Corrections and assessed a fi ne of $10,000. Sentencing was delayed after Reynolds’ attorney, Robert Compton of El Dorado, filed a motion for a new trial, which was later denied. Charges against Reynolds were later reduced to third degree battery — a misdemeanor — on Aug. 3, 1979 by Union County Circuit Judge John Graves. Reynolds received a one year suspended sentence in the Union County Jail, along with a $1,000, fi ne. He was also ordered to pay $7,500 in restitution to Lee." I think its time for Jack to go....... |

Yea, I see his history finally surfaced. History is to be learned from and not repeated. Reynolds has got some learning to do. Maybe justice will provide him the time needed to reflect on his actions.

1 I have to agree with you. Also, I'd like to know how we (collectively) as voters in this county who voted this man in did so with a clear conscience? This history on this man was not that difficult to get. He should not hold the position(s) he holds in this city/county given his past and present behaviors. However, we have no one to blame for him doing so but the ones that voted him into that position. |
||||
AMEN... NOW HOW DO WE GET HIM OUT... DOES IT TAKE AN ACT OF CONGRESS???? YOU WOULD THINK HE WOULD RESIGN FROM ANY POSITION HE HOLDS TO SAVE HIS FACE. JACK NEEDS TO GO. |
||||
Well, we as citizens can contact the quorom court and ask for his resignation demand it even. If they are too chickensh*t to do something about it we go up and up till someone says this man is more worry and trouble than he is worth to the city/county and they make him step down. I doubt he will do it on his own. He thinks he is above the law obiviously. |

Here's the thing. How many people on here actually care enough about our community to fight that hard to have him removed? Let alone not to mention these same people are some of those that put him in the position he is in to begin with.
|
||||
I whole heartily agree unfortunaly he is not the only public servant that thinks this way. If people start making too much of a fuss I'm afraid they will be singled out, what can be done about that? |
||||
"They"? "Singled Out"? Who are "they" and singled out for what? |
||||
If you are speaking of those that stand up and speak out about having him removed as JP and from the QC being "they", Well, I'd be more concerned of what would happen if I didn't speak out and allowed the likes of people like Reynolds to remain in or be voted into the positions they are are in. |

I hope this is not the attitude everyone here has. If so, you are correct. We all have a vote & a voice. The question is how many of us will stand up openly, publicly and fight? As for the Sheriff's actions on this particular matter. I feel he did the best thing for all involve and remove himself from this case. It truly is a conflict of interest. |

1 I think its ashame the way our elected officals run this county,with little respect for the law |
||||
|
Keep your head down! Our elected officals have never had respect for the law, I am sure this little episode wwill not change anything, so break out the kevlar cause JACKS BACK!
|

Well at least our Prosecuting Attorney forwarded the case to the 8th North Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney Chris Thomason of Hope. Hopefully P.A. will not have an agenda relating to Mr. Reynolds and his connections to Union County Government. I agree that indeed history has repeated itself, but I hope the outcome the second time is not appealed and swept under the rug as the first time it happened in 1979. Bye Jack...
