The elderly Alzhemier pateient whose remains were discovered in Jones county was my Aunt . I was very sad to learn that her remains were found, but at the same time I was also relieved, because, there were alot of nights that I could not sleep because, I always had my Aunt Maggie on my mind. She always remaied in my thoughts and prayers. There were times that it seemed so hard for me to focus at work, because My aunt Maggie was always on my mind. I can't even tell you how many miles I drove looking for her when she was missing.GOD heard all our prayers , and he has brought closure.

I'm so hurt when i read this story, I'm a family member of Mrs. Sands & my opinion is i find it hard to believe that she walked 6 miles in her condition. I hope & pray this wasn't foul play, just sounds fishy to me that a woman so frail & sick & on medication could walk 6 miles. I think the case needs more national attention, like Nancy Grace show on CNN or the FOX News Channel, if it got more national attention & a good size reward offered i guarantee you somebody would start talking (THIS JUST DON'T SEEM LIKE THE AUNT THAT I GREW UP KNOWING), no matter how sick they claim she were, just sounds fishy...

IT IS POSSIBLE FOR SOMEONE WITH ALZHEIMERS TO WALK 6 MILES. THEY START GOING AND JUST DON'T KNOW TO STOP. THEY ARE NOT IN A CONDITION TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING AND PEOPLE OFTEN DO CHANGE FROM THE DEAR AUNT WE ONCE KNEW. THIS MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR THOSE OF US THAT LOVE THEM AND SEE THEM GO DOWNHILL FROM THEIR ONCE VIBRANT SELF. WE ARE IN MUCH MORE MISERY THAN THEY ARE. MY ONLY WORRY WOULD BE THE DISCOMFORT SHE SUFFERED PRIOR TO HER DEATH. BUT SHE IS AT PEACE NOW. TRY TO REMEMBER THE GOOD THINGS ABOUT HER AND THE MANY YEARS SHE HAD WITHOUT SICKNESS. DO NOT DWELL ON THE LAST YEARS WITH ILLNESS. PICK A GLAD THOUGHT ABOUT HER AND CONCENTRATE ON THIS AND THE FACT THAT YOU HAD HER AS LONG AS YOU DID AND THAT IT WAS A GIFT. GOD BLESS YOU.... I am a member of Mrs. Maggies family and I am appalled to see what has been written here concerning her. There has not been confirmation of the fact that the remains discovered 6 miles from her house were indeed her. The crime lab has not notified the family of any such thing. The things that are written her are pure specilation. sure when all findings are in it could possibly be her. but lets not jump to conclusions. they said it could take up to 3 months to positively identify the remains
