I wonder if it is Amy Gibson or That Brumfield girl that is missing.

Don't forget the taxi driver who killed that girl from Burlington very close to where they found this one and soon after Pamela Hoy's body was found nearby. This was in the early to mid 90's I think.

I remember that, I was working for the Alamance County Sheriffs Depatment at the time. He commited suicide by hanging. He could have killed others although at the time investigators thought that girl he picked up in his cab was the only one. I worked as a jailer, so I never had any thing to do with the investigations.

I doubt that it was Amy Gibson's remains as I wondered about earlier. WFMY is reporting that the remains was that of a young woman no more than five foot tall. Amy Gibson was five foot six inches according to reports. That case has always bothered me though. To just walk up the street for a few minmutes and never to be seen or heard from again is frightening especially for the parents of any child.

I was just browsing through the Americas most wanted missing persons for NC and a Jamie Michelle Fraley fits that perfectly :(
Here's the link to her case..she's 24 and 4'9"in tall.

I know it could be someone from another state, but it's worth checking out.

5ft tall, 22 yrs old.
Hope this may help.
My Husband had mentioned that taxi driver earlier about how they could never link him to Pamela Hoys death. I just wonder how long these remains have been out there.

From what I remember they thought whoever killed Pamela Hoy took advantage of the fact that someone was found out there and dumped her body thinking it would appear that the taxi guy killed her as well. If the body has been there a long time, wouldn't it seem likely that those dogs would have found it by now or did they find it because it was (for a lack of better words) "fresh." Can they determine race by just bones? Just wondering how they knew she was white....I know on TV shows they do but is that real?

Yes they can, but if the body was "fresh" then I am sure skin was still attached, or maybe there were clothes or other articles with the body. Bj and his boys are being tight lipped about this one. So I am thinking it may be a fresh one.

Most people have a theroy about Pamela Hoy, it is just bad that the Alamance County Sheriff's Department along with the Guilford County Sheriff's Department wouldn't follow up on that lead because of who he was. That case will never be solved because of the fact that these two agencies refused to work together or enlist the help of the SBI or the FBI. Part of the good ole boy network that used to exist in Alamance County. I worked for two Sheriff;s there, John Stockard and Richard Frye.

My source at the sheriff's deparment says the body is fresh and was recently either put there or she got lost and died there. They think it could be Danielle Brumfield, a lot of indicators are pointing that way.

Lost and died there? It's not a totally deserted area and there is a traveled road close by along with house. I'm afraid foul play is involved.

I live less than 1/2 mile from there and this is not the first body to be found in our area... It is scary that a killer probably drove by my house and dumped a young dead woman in our neighborhood. The area is remote but not uninhabited, I am amazed it took so long for someone to find her. I pray her family finds closure soon.

No way she could have been lost. There are plenty of homes in the area where the body was found... I have heard that the girl had been dead for 1 to 2 weeks, so called "kinda fresh" but in the heat we had the last 2 week, there was probably lots of decomposure. Also, we have tons of prey birds, foxes, and coyotes in this area is assist in making the body less easy to identify.
It is truly a tragedy!

Even though that area is a ways from the interstate, Mt. Hope Church road is an exit. Anyone traveling the interstate could have exited at that exit, and drove until they felt comfortable, and then dumped a body in the woods. The body probably doesn't even belong to a missing person from this area. A hooker picked up by a long distance truck driver.

The dog did indeed, the jawbone or at least part of it.
