The owner uses the clients money to buy her and her family expensive things. I have seen her buy q TV with w clients money for herself meanwhile the client had no TV. I used to work there. Feel so sorry for the patients

Each client gets money for social security, she gets the money in and buys them things. Only the things she buys for them go home with her instead of too the clients

Don't b stupid! I have known the family since 1996. I worked there a year or two n 2001&2 they r by the books and each person has there owe trust fund. I seriously doubt she uses patient trust funds to buy things she can't account for legally. Sounds like someone got fired to me. And b4 u say we r friends, ask her, we don't get along well but she does right by her patients and her family!

they actually started with only best intentions but most of their residents are just mentally disabled not elderly and they will nickle and dime everyone to death asking for cigarettes and sodas and snacks, etc. Plus it costs a lot to employ enough people to watch them and provide them with furniture, food etc. By the time all is said and done, the owner doesn't take home all that much. And that is not a locked facility, which means the residents have to be allowed to leave when they wish, so a lot of energy is spent retrieving them from various places at end of day or when resident doesnt wanna walk back or when they've been a nuisance at one of the local businesses and the business wants them removed from their property. When they are put in that home the family of resident or the government agency that places them there is aware that it is not a locked facility and that it is restraint free and chose to put them there. A lot of those patients are state funded also and the state barely covers the cost of housing and feeding them, so there is not much to be made off the residents. and heritage offers something most places dont and thats actual affection and respect for the residents, not a cold sterile hospital enviroment that most assisted living homes offer. i've worked at a lot of nursing and assisted living homes and can honestly say that heritage is one of the best and the residents physical and emotional needs are met better there than they would be elsewhere.

I commend your thoughtful well written post. you explained everything nicely. most of the gossips here will still not get it through their heads. another problem you didn't mention is.. finding competent help. the young people today expect the world but don't care to put in an honest days work. well maybe not all of them but most of them.

The owners of that facility are doing those patients wrong. The patients should never have to beg for money or food. Not while the owners live and eat like royalty. So disgusting.
