DisconcertedRCMom wrote: Seriously? You think providing a service through the Rotary Club to give citizens an opportunity to have flags placed in their yard on specific holidays is a business advertisement? Have you seen anything related to this advertised by Gilbert Construction? No. You haven't. That's because it is something they handle for the Rotary and it's not related to their business. They do not profit from any of it. Must you be so cynical? These are tremendously nice people and for a very small fee (which does not go to them), they store the flags, keep them in excellent condition, drive around just after dawn and place them in everyone's yard who has signed up. Then, they drive around again and pick them up. It's meant to be a positive, supportive thing for our country. What is wrong with you? Sure does, sounds like an advertisement for a local construction company instead of a good cause.

Wow. I am so deeply disheartened that you two cannot see past the end of your own noses. And I feel even worse because the people volunteering their time to do this worthy cause are getting such disrespect from you. They are really good people and I just wanted to spread the word about a FLAG program. Because I thought people having FLAGS in their yards on holiays was a worthwhile, American thing to do. But you wouldn't know Patriotism if it bit you on the ass. Of course, maybe if your child was serving over there, you'd fly a flag, right? After all, then it would be important, right? All this talk about the worthless people in city hall.....and yet it's people like you that make me the most ashamed.

Do you know what the Rotary is all about? Giving. I used to be on the Rotary years ago. We do things to help supplement our cause. They have shoes for kids, coats for kids, wheelchairs for those in need, building water wells in Africa so the people can have clean water to drink, want me to continue? I have a flag in my front yard, for both supporting our troups who give of their lives for our freedom, and to support our Rotary who gives of their hearts for love.

Our neighbor had one up a few years ago and looked so proud and beautiful we asked about it. They referred us to someone on the Rotary. We've had one ever since, flying it with thanksgiving for our freedom and for all those who have given their lives and still fight for all Americans. I think its only $35/year?

Yes, it's 35.00 a year for 7 holidays. I think that's a great deal considering they do all the work and you get a wonderful, high quality flag on display in your yard.....We love ours - and we are grateful for others who display theirs as well....
