Hello my name is Joey, and I just started posting on Topix. I live in Royse City in Alexander Ranch, and we just moved there from Quail Ridge 2 months ago. I've been in the financial field for many years now, and I help people with an overwhelming amount of credit card debt. I've been working for a debt settlement company in Wylie for the last couple of years, and I figured I'd let me neighbors (Royse City) know about the assistance I can provide.

I've put together a program explanation based on 20K in debt.
I’ll take this time to explain our program in a little more detail for you here. Things are always explained better over the phone, but I’ll do my best job to write everything out for you. Because you come to us with an existing hardship or find yourself living paycheck to paycheck, we negotiate with your enrolled creditors with the goal of reducing the balances up to 60% off (sometimes more). You’ll end up, therefore, paying your creditors only about 40% of your current balances. Our fee is 15% of the total debt enrolled in the program. You’re paying for our negotiating expertise, advice and consultation on any debt related matter during the program. There are no additional or hidden monthly fees. It also helps that we have negotiated for thousands of clients that have also fallen on difficult times. What we’d do is take the $20,000 and reduce your debt down to $8,000 (40% of what you owe), we charge a flat 15% service fee of your debt load($3,000), so when you add these two #’s together it would be $11,000, and this would save you over 9K off of what you owe! You’d be eligible for a few different programs. Our 2 year, 3 year, 3.5 year, or our 4 year program are listed below for you. 2 years (24 months)@ 458 3 years (36 months)@ 305 3.5 years (42 months)@ 261 4 years (48 months)@ 229 All of these monthly payments will be the only thing that you’re paying (and it already includes all fees), and YES you can pay more and be done sooner without any penalties or hidden fees. |
Our program is structured so you will be directing a budgeted amount each month into a checking or savings account that YOU control. This can be an existing account that you already have. This account will be totally under your control. This is the part our clients really like. When we receive a fair offer from a creditor OR you have saved an anticipated settlement amount (typically about 40%) of any creditor balance you will relay with your customer service rep appointed directly to you here at American Financial Concepts that you’re ready to begin negotiations on that account. American Financial Concepts will then continue negotiations on your behalf and, when an acceptable offer is made, we will seek your approval. If you approve a settlement amount, we’ll obtain a confirming letter from the creditor. You’ll then take that amount out of your checking or savings and send it directly to the creditor to pay, settle and close that account. Repeat these steps for each creditor.
Note:(This is not a consolidation program) Creditors will not be paid by American Financial Concepts at anytime. When you’ve saved 30%- 50% of the balance and negotiations have been completed you will send the payment to your creditor.(usually within 2 weeks of your advice to us). Their normal collection policies will be in place and active. Also take the time to familiarize yourself with The Association of Settlement Companies otherwise known as TASC. You can read about them at www.tascsite.com . When you’re going to do business within the Debt Settlement industry, try and make sure that they’re a member with TASC and you’ll be dealing with a better company! TASC ensures that we disclose everything about aprogram of this nature, and you’ll be fully aware of what to expect! I also wanted to include a link that will take you back to our website as well www.americanfinancialconcepts.com |

Lastly I’d like to brag about our company real quick. We’ve helped out thousands of people in your situation, and we keep our clients happy. You sound educated, and I’m sure you’re a very honest person just looking for the right company to assist you through this. I mean this can be a huge decision for anyone, and not everyone can stomach making this decision. I hope I don’t offend you by telling you this, but if you do decide to do this, I can guarantee you that you won’t feel 100% better overnight, because it’ll take us a few weeks of showing you all of the activity we do upfront before the 1st payment even begins. This makes a world of difference though, because our competition requires 1st payment before processing your file. I work with a wonderful staff here that will hold your hand all the way through this program. I’m in the enrollment department here, and once you get through me you’ll have me on the backburner at all times to answer any questions you may have. You’ll then be introduced to 1 person working directly on your file in Contract Analysis (getting your statements and permission slips to contact your creditors, etc…). You’ll also have 1 contact in client services that will update you regularly on your progress and walk you through this. And last but not least you’ll be given 1 representative from the settlement department that contacts your creditors and gets the ball rolling on your settlements as you do this. I point these things out, because many other companies sign you up, then drop the ball. They often have you dealing with just about anyone in their organization that has no idea who you are, and you can often sit on hold forever to be transferred around to someone that doesn’t know what’s going on with your file? This can really make for an unpleasant experience similar to dealing with your cell phone provider or another “call center” organization. We do everything in house and do not branch out our services to a 3rd party like others. We truly look forward to hearing back from you, and I’ll accommodate this transition as smoothly as possible for you.
Have a wonderful day! Joey Staton my office number is eight-six-six nine-four-zero four-seven-three-one my blackberry # is two-one-four nine-three-zero three-one-zero-nine I'm a very personable guy and husband and a dad, and I work for a very honest company. If you would feel better meeting face to face, that's percectly fine with me also. |

I thought this forum was for issues that are happening in Rockwall ..not for free advertisment.
I'm definitely not the only one guilty of this. I was just trying to offer assistance since I'm a local in the area. Please disregard if you don't need the help. I have had others contact me privately that have needed the help though, and I was told by someone else that frequents topix to put my information on here for those looking for this type of assistance. |
get a life, joey |
| ||||
Wow? And that was for what? Do you get on every post of people that have made mention of what they do for a living and tell them the same thing? I have a life that I'm very pleased with by the way, thanks! |
By the way the title of this thread was appropriately named. If you weren't in need of credit card assistance then why did you bother reading? I see a ton of topics on topix that do not interest me...therefore I don't bother reading them. So as you tell me to get a life, wouldn't it be you that has no life if you're just so bored to surf the internet and talk negative to those that are trying to help people out. I mean you literally had to read all the way through these posts that have been made, and then took the time to reply? LOL...It's quite funny really. |

1 Have you ever heard of Dave Ramsey? He is a Christian finiancial advisor - he is nation wide and WELL reconized! He has a raido show from 1-4 on 570am and is also on Fox news. He talks over and over about Debt CONsouldation, and how it's a HUGE CON. How can you justify charging people to only do a service that they can do for them selves for FREE! If you were really helping people you would HELP them fix there problem not charge them to do it. Why would anyone pay to be told to let their credit cards go and then have you settle with them for pennys on the dollar. Not only that I find it very interesting that you get paid first! You can't borrow your way out of debt. Internal statistics in firms that deal in debt consoulidation estimate that as much as 78% precent of the time, people come to counsouldate their "credit card debt" but that after the CONsouladation the debt amount GROWS rather than reduces. The most attractive advertised feature about debt CONsouldationplans is that the monthly payment is lower. The reason for this, however is usually that the payback period is extended. A lower rater for a longer time period means EVEN MORE interest is being charged. It's a short-term, feel good solution that really creates a longer term problem. How is this helping anyone? Do you NOT feel guilty for CONing people? And why should they pay you money to do this for them when they can do it for themselves and send theire creditors the money. How can you sleep at night? |
Wow? Well I'm able to sleep at night because we offer debt settlement and not debt consolidation. Get your facts straight before you bash me and my character. You obviously read nothing that I posted above. I'll even go as far as to say that you could do what we do on your own as well, but you have to deal with the headache of it, and the possibility of being sued without a company there to back you up. I could probably also change my own oil, but I don't think I could do it as good as a professional company could. It's all relative. You also know that Dave Ramsey is just a book salesman don't you? He's got great advice, just pay $50 and you can learn it. Couldn't he tell everyone everything that's in his books in his broadcasts??? Sure he could, but he's also trying to make money, just like every other company in the debt industry. Again if you go back up and read my posts, you'll see how our program can work for you, but do not confuse us with Consolidation...because I do agree with you that those places don't work! |

For most people that are looking to get out of debt, there are 3 major concerns:
One- How much will I have to pay per month? Two- How will it affect my credit? Three- How long will it take me to get out of debt? Below you’ll find a brief description of your 3 different options and the answer to those 3 questions for each option. Bankruptcy: Chapter 7- This option will eliminate the debt. Aside from ruining your credit for the next 10 yrs. the down side is that most people will never qualify for this option. There are a few different criteria’s to be met with this option but the one that keeps most people from being eligible is the fact that, you are required to have made under the poverty income line in your state for the past 2 yrs in a row. If you do qualify, most states will require you to sell any assets to pay off the debt before they “forgive” the remaining debt amount. Chapter 13- Most people will qualify for this option. However, there are not too many instances where this is a benefit since you are still required to pay back the majority if not all of the debt within 5 yrs or less plus attorney fees, just to have ruined your credit for the next 10 yrs. In addition, they also require that you take 6 months of credit counseling classes for this, and who has time for that? Consolidation (CCCS): They do lower your interest rates, and get your minimum payments slightly lower then what they are now, as long as you don’t already have low interest rates. It will usually take 5-7 years to pay off your debt in this type of program. These programs although often claiming to be non-profit, have you end up paying back more debt than you actually have when you initially came to them for help. Do the math, multiply the payment they give you by the number of months you will be in their program and see how much you’ll pay back, and then ask yourself how that even makes sense. Although they will generally tell you that it does not reflect negatively on your credit, lenders such as mortgage companies and car dealerships actually compare this option to Chapter 13 bankruptcy which is due to what is called a “3rd party intervention,” which is also what causes it to show negatively on your credit for 7 yrs. So now ask yourself, does it make sense to lower my overall payments $30-50/ month to end up paying back even more debt than I already have and ruin my credit for the next 7 yrs? Settlement: This option will cut your debt in half, which will obviously lower your monthly payments substantially (your payments with this option will be about half of what they are in a CH 13 or CCCS), allowing you to get the debt paid off much quicker. The average program is 2-4 yrs in length, depending on how much debt you have and how much you can afford as a monthly payment. Like the other options, this program does not go without credit affects, however, within about 6 months of being done with a settlement program, your credit should be at least as good if not better than what it is right now! In short, it saves you a substantial amount of money while allowing you to put the weight & stress of this debt behind you in a very short period of time. By eliminating the debt and fixing the “debt to income ratio” side of your credit so quickly, you will now have your credit score back but this time you can afford to use it because you’re no longer paying on all the interest and debt you previously had. I know this is a difficult situation to be in and it adds stress to every aspect of your life. I will do what I can to help you carry that weight and we are here to hold your hand through every step of this process. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns and I will address them immediately to help you resolve this situation. |

Actually Dave Ramsey does give the same advise that's in his book on the air. His book the total money makeover was $12.95. Settlement is something that you can do your self. There is NO need to pay to have it done. It's a scam and a rip off. Your credit gets just as ruined with "settlement" as it does consouldation. People please read into these companys and know what they're doing for you, you can do for your self for FREE. Please don't fall victim to these companys. They really should be out lawed!

AOL |
And yes I did do it on my own. I followed Dave Ramseys FREE advise and am now 100% debt free. It's not a headache. It's a lot of paperwork and such but nothing that the average person can't deal with. But I am sure you probably have some MAKOR degree to be charging to deal with peoples money right?

TryingtobeDebitF ree - since you are the alknowing, please share with everyone exactly how they can settle on their own....oh wait I already did that in my original post. I didn't put out some empty ended introduction that said call me and let me tell you the secret to remove your debts...no, in fact I posted exactly how it works and what we do, and what we charge to get it done. I don't see the logic in your posts, and you continually try to bash me. You can't even spell MAJOR correctly? How much sense do you think you make by saying that Dave Ramsey tells you exactly how to do it for free on the radio, then you still go and pay 12.95 to get the book? You're too funny, and I'm done fighting with you, and back to helping people that want our assistance....Be forewarned anyone that wants our help, we're a business and DO CHARGE to offer you assistance. YES YOU CAN DO THIS ON YOUR OWN, if you want to deal with the headache, harrassment, and the possibility of being sued...or you can hire a professional company to assist you.
Thank you for the handful of people that have contacted me from this post, and most importantly thank you for overlooking the negative comments others are putting up on here. |

My main question is what kind of degree do you have to have to do this? It was no headache to take care of my own debit. It was quite simple actually. Do you have a degree in finance? Does anyone that works for your company have to have a degree to be working with peoples money? My best advise to everyone reading this is do it your self. And FYI no one will sue you! Credit card companys are more than willing to help you get your debit paid off- all you have to do is call them. And if you're trying to settle your debit then I am sure that it's already been charged off and you will receive settlement letters. The best settlement is .04 on the dollar. Get EVERYTHING in wrighting and pay it down small to large. Save the 10% that these settlement companys charge. Better yet if you're wanting someone else to do it, I would call a debt attorney that deals with these things and pay them. I would not turn my finances over to anyone off the street that I am sure probably works off commission.
Ummm....I'm not sure I would follow this poster's advice. YOU CAN BE SUED!!! 40% is not the best settlement you can get. We charge 15% not 10%, so I'm just not convinced that you've read anything I've typed to this point, because I mentioned most of this already. You're a complete waste of time, unless you would do like you said and help people for free. Why don't you put up your email address or phone number and let all these people that you plan to help for free contact you directly? It's also funny you mention hiring a debt attorney over a company that does this on a regular basis? You really should research more, and complain less. I never said you can't do this on your own, so why do you keep acting as though I did? You can cut your hair on your own as well...but do you, or do you pay for it? Like I said it's all relative, and I promise you that the people I have helped out are very gracious for it. And since I do read your posts, I'll answer your questions. I am commission based, and I don't think that's much of a shocker to anyone (doctors, attorneys, dentists are also commissioned). I do not have a degree in Finance, and I don't act as though I do either. I've been in this industry for 6 years, and I'm quite familiar with it. |

The reason that I believe that everyone should do it themselves is so they know that it's not easy. Just like losing weight - After getting all the weight off, you don't want that ice cream because you have worked so hard to lose the weight. But I guess that your theory would be to hire someone to lose the weight for you, or I guess you could get a DR to suck the fat out. People like you and your company want people to remain in debt for as long as they can so that you can make your 15%. So you're "quite familiar with it", how is that supposed to comfort someone? You have NO degree? Did you even go to highschool? Is this a job someone off the street can get? I am quite familiar with the goverment but that does NOT qualify me to run this country! If you're out there and need assistance with this I would consult somone who at least had to go to school to deal with your finances. We don't even know if the people they have working for them went to Highschool!
AOL |
You can't be sued -credit card people are NOT going to sue you! It's fact no matter what this person trying to SELL you his service tells you!! And I did not say 40% I said .04 cents on the dollar!
