Rockwall has quite a bit of retail but there's still a few stores we don't have. What store or restuarant would you like to see come to Rockwall?

I agree. A Barnes and Nobel or Borders would be awesome. As for restaurants a Cheddars and Olive Garden.

Yes to either Whole Foods or Central Market even better would be both. Also a bookstore is really needed.

Contact Matt Scott. He is personally responsible for the huge increase in businesses in Rockwall.

Just shoot him an email or phone call, tell him what you want and within a few months he can guarantee results.

Is this comment good or bad.I hear say that he is responsible for all this traffic mess. Is he the only one that approves ALL the stores, resturants and apartments ?
If so then why do we need the other council members?

I could go for a Cheddars and a decent furniture store. Not a Rooms2Go or Room Store but a better quality furniture store like Wiers Furniture. Book store would be nice but I think bookstores are becoming extinct. Online bookstores are the future.

Intersting... Matt Scott gets all the blame for the new retail but what about Mayor Cecil or councilman Glen Farris? These guys are as much to blame for the development explosion as Matt Scott.

Truth be known, we're all to blame for electing this guys in the first place!!! Now that they do not have opponets, they will assume all is well in the city and proceed with whatever they darn well please and the heck with what the taxpayers think!

Basically, in conversations and other means of communication, Matt likes to take all the credit for the business boom in Rockwall. As if he were some kind of shrewd expert in wooing businesses to Rockwall.

I believe businesses WANT to come to Rockwall as it is a fast growing city.

As far as "multi-family dwellings", you can put a lot of that blame on the city staff. There are quite a few I know who are keenly interested in apartments and duplexes for Rockwall.

Go to a city council meeting and talk to them. They do want to hear from people, but very few every go to the council meetings. Don't go when you have a vested interest, go for no reason other than to see what goes on. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's downright redicilous.

To the original question: not a store, but I'd like to see an Indian restaurant.

We need a few more hotels and motels, more large car dealerships, some more fast food joints, another truck stop, a giant mall - bigger than firewheels, and we need a Sams store. We only have 2 7'11s and we definatly need some donut shops that knows how to make cake donutes with real frosting and sprinkles on top, I am sick of glazed. We need a Casino and a race track and just for fun We must have more returants to watch go out of bsiness.

With all that we can finally wipe out the few remainng samll mom & pop car lots as well as the resturants and all those little retail stores that are down down that use to be able to make a living in Rockwall. They are an eye sore anyway right?

Then we will finally look just like every single
other city around here. Rockwall will finally stop being a special place to live. I can't wait.

I would love to see a Whole Foods or Central Market or even Sprouts come to Rockwall. Also, I agree we need a Cheddar's. Don't need any more fast food restaurants. We already have plenty

I would love to see a Whole Foods Market or Central Market as well as a Cheddar's Restaurant. It would be nice also to have another Mexican restaurant, preferably family owned or a really good chain like Pappacito's.

The city planner and the city manager need to find work elsewhere. The city planner seems to think he works for the developers and not the city. The city manager has been in her job for way too long and has gotten very comfortable. It's time for some fresh faces but the city council doesn't seen to be willing to fire these people.

Maybe the city planner is in the developers pocket! Why would the city council want to get ride of these two persons ? Who else can they get to stamp APPROVED on their paperwork..without look at it.I would be sitting comfortable too.Haha

Daily Horoscope for December 18

Aries

You'll be in a better position to get on well with someone who has power or authority over you. This might be your boss, some other authority figure, a friend you really respect or an older relative. Maybe you should chat up your superiors at the office Christmas party... or make more of an effort to understand what makes a certain person tick.
