It’s not Good Friday for Russian Orthodox Christians. Russian Orthodox Friday is April 25 this year.

The basic academic errors in this article are astounding. The reference to Good Friday mentioned by Anonymous is certainly a good example, but the use of phrases such as "incantations", "call-and-response" and "schism" reflect a basic lack of knowledge that, in the final analysis, is tantamount to insult to Orthodox Christians. I realize that such an error would likely not occur in a larger publication, but errors (and the tacit insults implied by these errors) such as those in this article are inexcusable in the age of the Internet where good, detailed information is available at the click of a mouse. I humbly request that, in honor of our dearly beloved archpastor, Metropolitan Laurus, the newspaper retracts this article, corrects the errors and resubmits it with an apology.

It does not surprise me that in today's secular society that the newspeople do not know that Orthodox Easter(Pascha)always follows passover.

Although I was not able to attend the funeral services of Our Mitropolite Laurus, I want to say he was truly a Saint and was a loving man who loved Our Lord Jesus Christ, our Russian Orthodox Church and loved to serve.
He will truly be missed by all.
