How appropriate that Buesgens was Emmer's campaign manager. Both of them are drunks who try to get away with it because they are in state govt. What an enbarrassment they are not only to the Republican Party but to the honest citizens of Minnesota. Wait until you see what Rep. Myhra and Sen. Hall do to the people in Burnsville. One is a fat cow and the other an empty suit. Both supported Emmer and Buesgens and approved of their drinking. All hypocrites.

Dave Orrick, where's the headline that Rep. Buesgens is a convicted drunkard and soon to be homeless politician??? And this didn't even make the front page? Your bias reporting needs to be consistent (with your previous reporting on similar if not nearly as sensational as this story)!

There is no way in the world that a convicted stinking drunk driver should be sitting in the Legislature writing and helping pass laws that the rest of us are obligated to obey, especially after he deliberately chooses to violate the terms of his probation. The judge handling Rep. Mark "Train Wreck" Buesgens' case should revoke probation and order him to serve his complete prison sentence, because despite the contrite sound bytes Buesgens clearly hasn't gotten the message that he must not consume alcoholic beverages.

Buesgens wasn't drunk this time, but the judge shouldn't give him a "next time" opportunity to potentially drive drunk and possibly injure or kill innocent victims. Buesgens can get substance abuse treatment in prison, but he shouldn't wait for the judge's probation revocation ruling to resign from the Legislature immediately and check himself into rehab.

Another typical political hypocrite.
If I, or you, had done exactly as he has done, we would be trying to make bail.

And be all over the front page with the headline: "Buesgen's Problems: Drinking and Homeless".

The bias and racist local media will NEVER do that to a White Republican lawmaker, no way. It just wouldn't be right.

When he pleaded guilty to DWI in November, it was Mark Buesgens, the man, who was given a second chance.

This time, it's Mark Buesgens, the state representative, and it's time for him to resign.

Senate president arrested on DWI charge

...and that was not his first time.

and we citizens wonder IF there's a double for the citizens and one for the lawmakers. I wish they could get fired for doing stuff like this.

It appears Minnesota has become a sanctuary state for drunken legislators. Maybe we need to deport some.

Oh wait, nevermind, St.Paul is a 'sanctuary city'.

It's Okay to violate probation. As long as you admit it after being caught!

Buesgens was overwhelmingly re-elected late fall after the DWI arrest, which happened after he was leaving an Emmer campaign strategy meeting. People of Scott Co clearly do not care about law violations, his personal bankrupcy issues, and his abrasive nature. Plant corn.....get corn ! Waiting for the other rep, religious book publisher from Shakopee, to jump in to defend him.

It shows that Minnesota is a police state if this much attention is give to someone with .008. If this is all cops have to do maybe we need less of them and save the state some money.

So someone sees you on the road, knows where you live, and calls you in as a suspected drunk driver at 0.008? Sounds like the DFL has their hitmen tailing GOP lawmakers.
