Enough is enough, this man was convicted of drunk driving before, left the scene of a tragic accident, that he KNEW HE HIT a small child asking if the kid wwas okay. This creature ought never see the light of day again. How can we keep these kinds of drunken monsters off the street? My sympathy goes to this sweet child's family. Please save us taxpayers the trial and he goes directly to prison for life!

My heart goes out to this family. You are doing such an awesome thing by donating his organs. May you find peace in knowing your son's spirt lives on in others.

This is so sad and could of been prevented. Another drunk killing innocent people. So sorry for the family

BTW Pioneer Prees:
"The complaint said a Shakopee police officer saw a pickup drive away from the scene, make a U-turn, then head back south without stopping to help the driver. "

I think you meant to say "bicyclist" nice editing

My condolences to Nicholas' family. A nice young man who has NOT even begun to really live. Looks like a nice intelligent young man.

And the dirtball who hit him shame on YOU! I agree, why waste our taxpaying dollars providing a free lawyer and trial plus prison here is too plush for these slimeballs!

And, they need to get TOUGH on these drunk drivers! Laws here are far too lenient!

My heart is with them as their little boy has passed. God bless them also, for opting to donate his organs; by doing so, other children will now receive a miracle.

My deepest sympathies to the family of Nicholas Hagedorn.
He is the same age and looks so similar to my son--this situation just breaks my heart. Thank you for extending the lives of others through the gift of organ donation.
May you find comfort and strength through your faith and shared love of Nicholas. Words can't express how sad I feel today.

"shoreview Scott" It's great that you do wrong sometimes, but do it at your own expense. There is no reason to Drink and Drive and if you are foolish enough to do so kill yourself not others. But it never ends like that, the drunk driver lives in almost all accidents created by drunks leaving the victim dead.

Nicholas's family my prayers go out to you. I am so sorry for you and I can't imagine the pain that you are feeling. May you be blessed.

So very sad that this young boys life was cut short by a drunk driver. If you've ever thought you were okay to drive home after even one drink -- please - think twice. My prayers are with the family.

My prayers to the family of this handsome young man, who never had a chance to grow up, I hope and pray justice is done, no life should ever be taken, all because someone chooses to drink and drive, it's a shame!
God Bless him and his family.
