They had a listing on MTB for shipping about 2 weeks ago. You got to go through elwood staffing (temp agency) for $9.45? per hr, then if they like you, they pick you up in 90 days for I belive $11.45 per hr with .10 every two weeks until top pay of $14.?? They are expanding the building so they must be ramping up for something. Working 3 shifts.

Martinrea Jonesville is one of the best things that has happened in the area for a long, long time. The employees that they brought back that were SKD employees before Martinrea purchased them were given full pay, not starting wages when they returned. They are making substantial investments in their workforce including technical training. When they use a temp service, it truly is temporary, unlike so many employers who keep people on temp service for years to avoid giving them insurance and other benefits. Martinrea is a model that Michigan companies should follow to give back a sense of stability to employees and communities. I am very glad to have Martinrea in our community.

(Blondie) you have no idea what you are talking about. Ask the employees a year later if Martinrea is the best place to work. If Martinrea is the model...we should all pray. Sorely understaffed and overworked...they'll all be hoping to get a job somewhere else when times get better.

Please support your statement. I am not saying I agree with Blondie and not you, but Blondie writes more to support his/her statement than you do. I would like to hear more if you have real life facts.

Real life facts: Working mandatory 7 days a week. 12 hour days. No real management. No communication between shifts. Everyone pushes the buck and no one is held accountable. They don't care if their employee's have families, lives, or things going on, they just keep working the employee's to death because they are making money because everyone's overhead is paid for in the first 40 hours which most have by thursday. This has been going on for months... Sounds like a great place from the outside but not to work there. They don't care about there employee's at all. What good is money if you have no time to spend it?

Thank you for your insight. It seems like feast or famine. Things sound crazy.

I work for Martinrea in Ridgetown, ON Canada. I can assure you that they could care less about their employees and their families. Money and POWER! They run roughshod over anyone who gets in their way. Bullies is the best way to describe senior management in that place. Rule with an iron fist. They have no clue how to run an efficient business. They thrive on keeping their employees in fear. Soon all of our work will end up in Jonesville. Fitting that a company that claims to be Canadian continues to move work out of this country.

"they could care less" means that at least they care somewhat. Is that what you meant to write? Otherwise, I fail to understand what you are saying.

Are you that much of a tool that you can't understand what I wrote even with my egregious grammar error? People that feel the need to be this anal are most certainly lacking something in their lives.

They took over a company I used to work for-ThyssenKrupp Fabco. It sounds like is the same way. I was thinking about trying to get back there but wanted to know what they are really like. Martinrea claims on their website that they have an open door policy and the company they took over claimed the same thing. It took me a year before I realized the company I was working for was a fraud when I wanted some changes implemented to improve production. It sounds like Martinrea is also a fraud that does not communicate well with their employees and demands some employees work 7 days a week.ThyssenKrupp demanded I work 7 days a week. I was so valuable they wanted me there every day but not valuable enough to listen to me or not fire me for taking 3 days off sick.

It appears from what I have heard that is what is/was going on at MR Jonesville. Working them to death. Ive been gone two years. I have talked to a few people (good people) that have left due to the conditions. If you like overtime and no life, thats what they are serving up. Do not know any recent data, though.

I worked through Elwood staffing at Martinrea in Jonesville. I loved my job. I was quality on 108 jonsville line. I had to go get carpal tunnel surgery and I gave Elwood and Martinrea a two week notice that i was going to be off for at least two weeks. I went back and gave Elwood Staffing my release to go back to work and they said Martinrea does not have a position for me. I was utterly crushed. I liked no in fact i loved working there. I have been trying to get back in there but don't really know whom I need to speak with. Like I said I would do anything to get back in there.

Then you should call all the temp agencies in Hillsdale and ask if they are placing at MR, then send MR a resume direct to them in the mail. They have turnover. Give it a shot.
