United States Senator Rand Paul fillibustered for 12 hours and 52 minutes yesterday in protest of American citizens being put on kill lists and being murdered by the president. Although a republican, his message passed over party lines as Democrats put their principles above their party and decided to stand with Rand. This was the first time in a very very long time I can say I'm proud of an American politician. Live him or hate him, Rand Paul put himself out there for ALL OF US yesterday

Thank you Senator Paul

Thank You Senator Rand. At last we have a champion knight to defend us from the wicked barbarian hordes in Washington!

He is a shining example of a new age Arthur in these new Dark Ages.

Would that we had a thousand fold his number in the halls of power!

Did he really accomplish anything or was this just a political maneuver to disrupt Obama nomination?

Making CSPAN2 must see tv was an accomplishment all on its own. To have him stand up and say what a lot of us are thinking made us feel like we had a voice. So I would say yes, just by restoring a little bit of faith back into some of our leaders for us I'd call it an accomplishment. Only way it can be a complete success is if the people stand up and sign the petitions and contact their senators to let them know they stand with Rand.

It was a historic day. When Rand took a stand for Liberty, it was a stand that directly effects all of us.

I have noticed how the conservative talk radio shows are being absolutely flooded with support from grass roots level voters.

But the Republican ruling class in the Senate, like John McCain, were actually opposed to what Rand did.

It is the old guard in the GOP, guys like McCain and Boehner, who are the problem. They are the reason why the GOP is loosing elections, and generally going in the wrong direction.

The only hope the GOP has is guys like Rand, who will actually listen to the people who elected them, and have the guts to stand up for Liberty and the Constitution in the face of this all out Leftist assault on them.

Good on you, Senator Rand!

(I wish our own Senators and Congressmen would learn something from him!)

LOL I don't think CSPAN was must see TV today or any other day. I think he was making a point with the administration that he wouldn't be ignored or taken seriously when asked a question. Aside from that, looked like political maneuvering to me but yes, he accomplished what he set out to do which is get an answer to his question. But I don't think anyone was surprised that the answer was "no".

Lmfao it was the first time ever I was pissed off I don't have (or couldn't find) CSPAN2.. But anyways, it was a bit of a moral victory of sorts. I thought it was pretty exciting..

Aw, it's all bullshit. Rand is trying to make his name known and maybe, just maybe, if he was really so dead set on making a statement, he should have pissed his pants and kept on going! At least he wouldn't have been guilty of pissing on our legs and swearing it's raining. I'm fed up with all this political posturing. I voted for Obama and maybe regret it. Not because he is a shining star, far from it. The only reason I voted for him was to avoid the union busting pro-corporate Republicans. It's not who you vote for, it's who you vote against. Seems to me, the only thing Obama is doing now is focusing on the "gay" agenda and blinding us with off topic malarkey. Queer hype = advertising money to be made off them. I wish they would stop their whining. Should I retract my vote? Man alive, this country sure has gone downhill.

You sound frustrated, and I don't blame you one bit.

What Sen. Paul did was a joke. He had received a letter prior to the filabuster, but apparently that was not good enough. Subsequent to his filabuster the nominee was confirmed and he received another letter. It was two sentences long. Thanks to the extreme right the Republican party is divided and Sen. Paul is culpable in the party's demise. All I can say is; thank you Senator! Please keep it up!

More BS from the right. Why not work on what we sent them to Washington for. What he did was waste more time on nothing. I say VOTE them all out!...and start with Rep. Roe.

Well, he is doing exactly what his constituents elected him to do (unlike most Republicans in Congress these days, who endlessly roll over and appease the Obama camp on issue after issue).

Remember, the Repubs in Congress come from districts that mostly supported Romney. In those places, Obama didnt get near enough votes to win.

So, if the people of a certain district elected a Congressman or Senator to office with opposing Obama in mind, then that is what that elected person should do.

The trouble with so many republicans in Congress these days, is that they are more concerned about what the leftist media and the left coast liberals think than what the folks back home think.

Congressman Roe would do well that the leftist media and the left coast liberals cant vote for or against him. Us Tennessee folks do that, and we expect him to oppose Obama and his leftist extremist agenda.

If Congressman Roe goes along with John Boehner in the continuing saga of republican routs and surrenders on every issue that comes along, then yes we need to vote out Congressman Roe and put someone in with some backbone.
