He is a weak attorney-I know of many cases dealing with employees where he suggested it would be hard for him to win certain cases. Think about it-most of your successful Attorneys are independent. Rambo serves in 2 or 3 municipal slots and probably only makes 80-100 thousand at best where your successful attornies are 2-300 thousand. It is a fact he has dropped the ball a few times on commission issues. Remember his instigating a review of Court appointed court clerk Brenda Sneyd-what happened it was suddenly dropped although it was and is a serious matter of ethical wrong doing. HE CLAMMED UP,BOWED OUT-No strong attorney would have wimped out but kept hammering. Besides for Co. Mayor or state rep. we need businessmen and women-people who have met budgets and handled payrolls. The last thing we need are more attornies in Nashville or DC for that matter.

Hill would defeat Rambo as he did Phillips. And Rambo knows better than to run for Crowes Senate seat for sure.

Funny. Speaking of independent businessmen, when has Matthew Hill ever met a budget and handled a payroll - not at his Rev. Dr. Daddy Kenneth C. Hill's radio stations (the Hill's financed their ownership privately owned radio station with loans from AECC d.b.a. WHCB 91.5FM will putting the bite on listeners for tithes for AECC, and Rep. Hill certainly could not be considered a successful "independent businessman" from the very few months that he and his wife operated that sham Jonesborough coffee shop while he was first running as 7th House District candidate way back in 2004(?)...
This is so true-I am by no means a fan of Hill. He has only had to run against people in Govt so far. Still think he would beat Rambo. The district needs a true businessman with no ties to local gov. Not someone who has been a gov. bureacrat.

Hill, aka, Priests of the Temple. At least Rambo doesn't use religion to get elected --------

Bottom line-we can certainly do better than these two.

Hill is a carpetbagger - works in Bristol and bought a house in Jonesborough in 2003 just to run for state office...

First of all, my 3 year old can do a better job than "John Rambo" He is a wallet raper! I hoped he burns in Hell!I recieved a citation for going thru a red light by food city. I was 2.5 seconds behind an eighteen wheeler that jumped in front of Me as driving with wife and 2 children, Going up a hill. There was no way to see the light color till after passing the white line. I fought it, having video proof, pictures of the incident. Then provided the judge with scientific proof "JOHN Rambo" that I had no choice. He knew if I would have stopped, it would have placed me in the intersection, I was of legal distance behind the truck, I was at a safe speed 5 under the speed limit. Fines are for people who break them, not for people who didnt have a choice. But Mr. John Rambo, who doesnt know his you know what from a hole in the ground. Found me guilty. I have a perfect driving record! It showed me attempt to stop but already had me at the center of the intersection..... WELL! Now I asked if I could appeal, they adv me no, unless I hired an attorney. Which according to the Constitution and the bill of rights, is a violation of my rights. I plan to sue for that. Also apeal. I found out by someone I know who works for the light company RedFlex, That when ever Jonesborough allows a citation to be cleared and found not guilty. Jonesborough is still required to pay it. But you are not. Gee, can you say a little motivation to find guilty, and reason to not? Jonesborugh tennessee only cares about money, not your family and not your lives, And as far as John Rambo? I hope the same happens to him and his family. But maybe he will get t-boned. If we could only be lucky enough.

Your total lie about Jonesborough paying Redflex for tickets where people are found not guilty shows your true colors. Anyone can easily uncover that lie by just requesting and reading the contract with redflex. The video's don't lie - I've sat in Court and watched him treat people very fairly. Given your first lie, I'm guessing you got busted and thought you could talk your way out of it.

We need judges that don't put up with that stuff. I say more power to him!

I agree on camera/ticket issues. My issue is we need less people double dipping in govt jobs and more business people representing us on the County Commission and in The General Assembly.

To Dale,
I don't disagree with you about Rambo; however, you are wrong about Brenda Sneyd. Ms. Sneyd did nothing unethical or illegal so, therefore, John Rambo couldn't pursue it because there was nothing to pursue. The whole thing was a trumped-up pack of lies made up by the mayor, Rambo, and some of the commissioners to punish Ms. Sneyd for blowing the whistle on the mayor and his chronies for giving themselves a 14% raise that year. When the matter of the raise hit the papers (she brought it to light during a budget meeting in the presence of some reporters), the mayor had Rambo pretend to "investigate" Ms. Sneyd and make up a bunch of slanderous crap in order to put her on the defensive and shut her up. Of course the newspaper doesn't care whether there is any validity in what they report (after all, a good "scandal" sells more papers), and they know that very few people, including Ms. Sneyd has the "deep pockets" necessary to sue them for liable. Since Ms. Sneyd is an officer of the Court, had she had actually done anything illegal or unethical, she would have been brought before the Court, not before the court of public opinion.

"He and his wife owned a coffee shop in Joesborough for awhile. So yeah, he had some experience running a business."

This is true (and a short while is more accurate), but rest assured that his daddy bought it for him. Local dems really need to simply accept that a conservative republican will hold the seat, but the local GOP seriously needs to replace Hill with a sane adult and drop this fringer. Hill seriously interviewed Orly Taitz and even seemed giddy about it on his Power Talk radio amateur hour thingy.

I'll never forget the very first time I ever heard Matt Hill... circa 1998 or so; I'm flipping through the radio and hear what I honestly believe is some sort of parody skit with a kid pretending to be a talk radio bombast. After listening long enough, I realize that it's no joke, so my next thought turns out to be accurate... "this kid's father must own the radio station."

How sad that being a fortunate son of wealth, nepotism and talk radio fame can get you elected in this area!

You all piss me off "I'd NEVER vote for Rambo" translates to I never vote except in presidentials. 4,500 people put two out of their element nobodies in the city commission while I former award winning mayor and a lifelong public servant each of whom could run circles around new commissioners. My hope is the people wake up and see beyond they're (prayer) gossip circles and start making intelligent votes based on the best conservative values candidate

2.5 seconds behind a big rig is not a safe legal distance lol i agree with everything else you said and my opinion is you did the right thing in that circumstance but you should have not been that close to a 80, 000 lb unit but it happens red light cameras are a joke
