I had a horrible time trying to buy a car from JC Honda. If the way they treated me was the "Johnson City Way" then I'm sorry I live here. Anybody else have any problems with them?

Oh Yes..I will never go back to them again. I had a terrible experience and will go to Bill Gatton the next time I decide to buy a Honda.

I had a bad experience with them just recently. They used that same old line that the car I wanted was a "hot" model and would not be there if I didn't pay full sticker price. After the manager (a fat man that stood up front looking out at the hot dog stand) wrote a disrespectful note on my application, in black sharpie of course, I left and vowed never to go back not even to service my 2008 Honda...which I bought at Bill Gatton. That "hot" model took two weeks to sell after my visit. I went to Bill Gatton and bought my newest Honda. JC Honda has lost my business forever!

Stay clear of Johnson City Honda. They spend their money trying to clear up their image that they deservedly have earned. No respect for customers, they hound you to death while you try to look over a car and discuss it with your spouse, and they hard-sell everything on the lot with the tired, old salesman routine of "we can't go any lower! its a hot model, so we can't negotiate". Don't fall for it - leave the lot. They'll call you once you get home begging you to come back to the lot and they'll redo your offer - only to find out that they are just tacking on the difference in their fees and other hidden costs.

The owner/manager (Trujilo?) isn't interested in hearing from you unless you are buying a car.

Phil Bachman Toyota is a good dealer where we ended up buying our car. Some of the salesmen seem a little dodgy, but we luckily found a good one that worked with us to get the deal done to satisfy us and we ended up getting a lot more for our dollar.

I've tried to do business with them both as John Skinner and JC Honda. I ended up buying from Phil Bachman twice and Bill Gatton once. The salespeople I've dealt with there have always been arrogant and didn't want my business.

I wouldn't buy a car from JC Honda. I have looked at cars there but the salesmen act like they don't know the prices and if you want to talk numbers you have to go through the salesman who "doesn't know anything" who will go back and forth between you and whoever actually can talk numbers there. Even at that point they only want to talk monthly payments. Evidently they don't want you to know what you are paying for the car and what they plan to give you for your trade-in. At this point I politely left.

Mountain Mazda in Greeneville did the same thing to me and I ended up walking away from a sale with them. They wouldn't give me any information about the price, etc., and only wanted to discuss monthly payments. After spending several hours trying to get information from them about pricing, I left with my blood pressure much higher than when I arrived. This must be a new "tactic" or something that car salesmen are now using. I gave up on the big lots and bought my vehicle from its previous owner.

The car dealerships in this area are getting worse and worse. I was recently in the market for a new car and did some research online on the makes and models that I liked. I went to the dealers around here and they were horrible. They tried to over-sell the vehicle by saying things like "well, you know this Nissan is the same thing as the Infiniti, so you're getting a $50,000 car at a bargain", treating me like I hadn't done my research. None of them would talk price - they wanted to draw the paperwork up first and then talk price. Pathetic. Plus, the salesmen were the most unprofessional people I have ever met at JC Honda and Phil Bachman Honda - they fought each other, continually bad mouthed the other salesmen, and tried their best to find some way to get in on the sale so they could get a cut.

I ended up driving to Chattanooga and had a great experience at a dealer there.

Have you evere thought that maybe the reason some of you get treated bad by salesman is because of the way you act and lie to them. If you are there to buy a car why not say so instead of saying the same ole lie "just looking" and the expect them to sell you the car at invoice. My best friend sells cars and when he sells a car at invoice he makes $100.00. How many cars do you need to sell at that rate to make a living? Ask yourselves that. Most of you probably have a crappy attitude to begin with.

Hahaha, you really are grasping for straws. It's not about getting something for nothing, it's about common decency, respect, and cooperation. The car dealers in this area have none - period. It's all about taking the customer to the cleaners with their tactics and all of the added on charges making up for their "loss" when they negotiate on the sticker price.

Take your pity party for car salesman elsewhere, perhaps to Johnson City Honda. I hear they are desperate for anyone to come by with their horrible reputation.

Ugh...if you're looking for a good car experience you should STAY AWAY from the JC area stealerships. Bill Gatton Acura across the street is just as bad...and EVERY salesman I talked to during my search in JC ALL had negative comments about Joe Trujillo. I had a good experience in Asheville at Apple Tree, if you're looking for Honda/Acura.

I wouldn't bother bristol or kingsport - they are all pretty bad in my experience and usually owned by the same cabal. Like someone else said, Chattanooga or Knoxville likely hold better results for you as a consumer. Even more importantly, you will most likely deal with professional men and women who have to abide by the law and the general courtesies for treating customers. These dealerships in small areas are filled with the "good ole boy network" mentality.

If that doesn't work, I'd rather buy a car from Massachusetts, Hawaii, or Oregon than I would Joe Trujillo or Phil Bachman.

I wish I had seen all of these comments one month ago!! I bought a lease turn that was Honda Pilot. Big mistake!! There were some scratches and dirty interior and only one key...I was promised over and over if I would buy it they would absolutely fix these issues and get the other key for me. After 4 trips back to Johnson City Honda, I finally filed a claim with the BBB in Knoxville. I have left my Pilot at this dealership for 7-8 hours on 3 different occasions. The 4th time, I left it for TEN days! Same story everytime I went to pick it up...that was the best they could do. They even lied about getting the second key for me. They said they contacted the person who had leased it before I bought it, and he said he didn't have the key anymore. Well, since they never detailed the Pilot like they were supposed to, I found this person's insurance card, called him, met him, and got my second key..They are pathetic!!! Don't ever go to Johnson City Honda!!! As far as Phil Bachman in Kingsport, they are almost as bad!!!!

I was treated the same way at J Johnson Toyota a couple years ago I bought a used Lexus they lied me about the keys they said they had all of them but after all the papers were signed the truth came out .After contacting Lexus J Johnson offerd to pay for half the cost of one key. Those keys cost over $200.00 plus the computer had to be replaced Lexus gave me the computer Ihad to pay to have it programed It is my understanding that one of the salesman who cheated me is at Phil Bachman now.

It is just so sad! It should be illegal. All the lies. Now that I have the Pilot back, the scratches are gone, but now I have serious swirl marks all over the back half of the Pilot! I also have overspray on my back window. I'm not sure if that stuff can be removed, but I am so sick and tired of trying to deal with them and get them to do the right thing. There lies have cost me alot of money!! I will never buy from them again! What would be very nice is if they would give me back the vehicle I traded in..not one scratch on it!!! Wishful thinking, huh?

Most car dealers will do or say what ever it takes but in my time I have had some good dealings .The swirl makes come from buffing you can use a soft cloth and some polish to remove them Kit brand has a product called "Scrach out " it works real good and is save on all clear coats there are other brands allso but Kits is cheaper and works just as good .The over spray came be removed with water and a sos pad as long as it is class dont us them on painted surface. Most of the time fine scratchs will polish out as long as they are not deep into the color
