I would like to know who you to ask who cares? I take it that you have no one close to you that is handicapped in any way, because if you did you would not be asking this question. While he was out living the good life others had to suffer.Stealing from a handicapped person to me is no different than stealing from a child.Do you have children and if so how would you feel if someone who they and you as a parent trusted stoled from them. Also you commented on that he paid for being to nice, what's nice about stealing? Is it living the nice life on someone else's money?I think you need to ask yourself some question's and think before you comment on a subject that apparently you have no knowledge about.15 months is still not enough when he stoled for several years.

shame on him, he robbed the handicapped and should be in prison for his under aged girlfriends as well. WTF, too nice? Tony Cradic who fooled many and stole while being trusted to run an important agency. He hasn't paid! Chip Hale Center suffered, his little child paid and will continue having to go through life with that on her daddy. Becky T. hit it right on the head. Thank God Chip Hale has a great Director now and staff and has moved forward and will continue. good people trusted nice guy cradic and they PAID for it.

Cradic ruined Chip Hale Center's good name and what they stand for but with the help of a great staff that negative stuff will be forgotten just like Mr. smooth, so he thought, operator!!!! Go, Chip Hale Center, Go! You have a fine young leader now and he has proved he is what the facility truly needs so I remind the community that we must stand behind him and this great organization. Cradic is gone and Good riddens! He is somewhere managing porn and gambling rings while he robs the cradle!

Don't believe everything you read. My neice would have never gotten services and her family relief if it wasn't for Tony Cradic. I know several families he helped personally and they sure don't share your feelings. Made some bad decisions...yes, and I wish he hadn't. But the guy did the honorable thing and took responsibility. As for the Chip Hale Center, they turn people away now if their disability seems difficult to handle (i.e. no clients who require adult diapers, unruly behaviors). I seem to remember a time when the agency was centered on the person's needs and not their disabilty. Funny...that changed when Cradic left.
The comments about his wife show the lack of sophistication on the part of the person posting. Stick to the issue...don't be petty!

Cradic was arrogant and basically stated he would take responsibility for the organization but never admitted to stealing money from them. yes, he may have helped people but that was his job and he sure made a heck of alot of money and that included dipping into money that didn't belong to him. I don't base my opinions on what I read cause in this case I don't have to. Cradic fooled many but it didn't last too long.He sure wasn't petty when he embezzled thousands of dollars. Sure he'd better do his job with a salary like that. Chip Hale Center has moved on and will come out of it.

I've heard all kinds of things, but something 'just ain't right' about all this. Look at the facts though: He pleads guilty to two Class B felonies each carrying 8 years and serves less than 14 months (not even 30%)in a halfway house where he can come and go as he pleases. He supposedly embezzled thousands but has no restitution and minimal fines. The story doesn't even make the front page of the Kingsport Times and only runs one day. No TV or radio stories at all. Several prominant people show to speak on his behalf at his parole hearing but nobody to oppose his release. He immediately starts in a new management job after getting out apparently doing better than was before all this started. He vacations in Hawaii (check out www.tonyandcandice.com . Now maybe I'm looking at this wrong, but either this guy has better connections than the Enron guys (doubtful) or he's taking the fall for other people and it's being covered up. Sure smells funny. Explain that.

I googled his name because I knew him in the Marine Corps. He was a snake then and I see nothing changed. He was forced out of the Marine Corps for lying and conduct unbecoming an Officer.I'll bet the "Chip Hale Center" never even knew about that. I'm sorry to see he got off so light, but then he's always been that lucky. He is scum of the earth.

Do you actually think that Tony was the only one involved in this ? Sounds like he was the fall guy. He has paid his debt to society....according to the state of Tennessee. Let him be.

Tony Cradic is a thief. He stole from those unable to protect themselves , the very people he was paid to protect.he deserves to rot in jail. he was/is an arrogant , oversexed , liar , but I agree he did not work alone. His accomplaces were the board of directors of Helping Hands who stood by and believed everything they were told by Mr. Cradic. They also had a responsibility to the clients yet for YEARS they sat there with their heads up their .... Well you can guess the rest. Also a local CPA audited the books every year ahd found NOTHING ! UNBELIEVEABLE !Tony Cradic got off easy , he got the money , but dont think he was the only one to blame. The board of directors and the CPA , along with Tony Thief Cradic should have to pay restitution. Shame on all of you.

there is a story here that will never be told because it involves too many locals. The board, leadership, and the state all were shown documentation of what was going on at least two years before it crashed down. Also, Godbee was supposed to be investigating the people who were going there on their lunch hours for the gambling going on, but their positions in the community have kept all that from coming out. Cradic did wrong, but there were others that had some responsibility.

I worked for several years at Chip Hale when Cradic was director and I'm still there 4 years later. Hands down it was a better place then. Better pay, better benefits, great place to work, AND THE CLIENTS WERE HAPPY!
All the directors that followed him cut pay, cut benefits and cut services to clients while blaming Cradic for doing so.
Come on, he was there for over 10 years and made the place work. Give me Cradic taking his extra cut over anyone since. Most people who've been there feel the same, just afraid to say it.
This new director is the biggest joke yet! I'm applying to Frontier Health.

Wow. I've never seen this on here. A lot of people think they know what really happened. I don't know the whole story but I do know what was going on with the clients during Mr. Cradic's tenure and after. The clients were well served under his management. I agree with bring Cradic Back. He did make mistakes, but so did a lot of other people. Tony was an awesome supervisor and friend. He has really turned his life around in ways that are unimaginable. I for one, can't believe the person he has become. While in jail, he tutored inmates to obtain their GED. He is a wonderful father to his two children. Like most of topix, here we are judging people we don't know and juding the decisions they made.

I don't know how things are working under the new director but have my ideas. It may not be OK, but I know Tony wasn't only using that money on himself; he made sure each and every client were well taken care of. It may not be fair, but should we say our government system is fair? Maybe he was giving the clients what they deserved where the government failed them. The conditions the clients live in under normal circumstances are not OK. He took care of them... legal or not.

I would like to know the facts from the person who said he was discharged from the Marines and where they found that info.

Judy R hit the nail on the head.

This is correct. That board knew for a long time what was going on, and those books were audited annually by an independent auditor. Cradic knew his board knew good and well what was going on up there so I guess he felt it was okay with them.

That Marine stuff is bogus. Most people remember the fanfare when he came home a decorated hero of Hawaii. He saved a bunch a people's lives in a fire or something. It was front page stuff.

I'm glad to hear about his family. Tony always was one taht would give the shirt off his back to someone in need. I know some people took advantage of his generosity.

His active politics probably got him in trouble with certain people. Haters I guess. I really liked him and wish him well in life.

Good points New Mom.

It's amazing how this is still news. The Rogersville Rag (Review) ran another story just last week. The new director's crying 'poor us' we can't make it. Funny how in the 10 plus years Cradic was there you never heard that. Funny how the place went from a few dozen employees to over 150 in a few years under Cradic's management and everyone seemed to be doing fine. Even after state rate cuts, no problems. What gives?
Something don't add up in all this. The public gets one story, but anyone who used to work there (like me) under Tony loved it. I never seen any gambling or anything going on at the center. The only whispers were about how he slept with everyone coming and going. Everyone knew about him and Wendi Patterson the Assistant Director. She seemed to be the problem, not Tony. She drove the BMW, he drove an old truck. Hmmmm. She got fired from another agency she took over as director after she left CHC because of money issues. Hmmmm. I heard he had to get a restraining order against her after a messy break up.
Maybe that's where the story should have gone.
Where's he work now? I'd work for him again!
