I hope it does, not because I would be the first customer but why should Johnson City get sales tax that we need. I'll vote for it.

I hope it goes thru as well. Go over to the stores at the corner of S Roan and University Parkway and see where all the cars are from.

Why should they get to make the rules? They don't pay any taxes.

When you're paying your own bills, you get to make your own rules. How many other people had parents that told us that?

Churches don't pay the bills.

Why should the Church rally against something that is perfectly legal & has been since Prohibition was lifted? The Repeal of Prohibition in the United States was accomplished with the passage of the Twenty-first Amendment to the United States Constitution on December 5, 1933. Let the man open any "legal" business he wishes & if the citizens of Carter County cannot obtain alcohol there, then the neighboring counties will be happy to serve them & obtain the revenue for themselves. It is 2012, 79 years post Prohibition & alcohol is legal to sale & obtain over the age of 21.

I just voted to have wine and package stores here in Elizabethton. Why would anyone want to let our tax dollars continue to go to Johnson City? One stop liquor store has got rich from Carter County for more than 30 years. Its not a religious issue at all. People are gonna drink if the choose, JC will be glad to continue to benefit if we don't vote this in today. Go vote for liquor!!!

Mr. Chappell is not an Elizabethton resident. Why should he prosper from our county and pay Johnson City taxes?

Just because CHAPPELL is really a NAVE why should his profits pay for a house on Boone Lake. We have a lake here. He needs to be checked out before selling any beverage. He has a shady past until marrying Naves daughter.
