Is Mountain View Rest worth driving to from Elizabethton? I've heard alot about that place but its kind've a long drive with gas prices going up..

well we like it...almost everything on the menu is deep fried....little hole in the wall....griled Talapia is great...good portions...reasonable prices....we don't eat there often because my hubby likes to eat healthy. Nothing fancy but I think you will like it.

If you're going for the seafood, go to Harbor House in JC instead...same food, less drive. The home cooking is worth it from Elizabethton though if you're not after the seafood.

Waited an hour for our food with 4 people, not including the 20 minutes we waited on the waitress to take our order. They were not crowded but kept saying how slammed they were. Waitress never came to check on us, she announced to a nearby waitress that she had to pee. Food was decent, not worth the wait. First time in my 27 years that I have not left a tip and I typically tip 20% even if the service is mediocre.

Always enjoy the food, huge portions! Just a good 'ole country restaurant, don't go if you're expecting the Ritz!

For the one that didn't leave a top, did you attempt to engage your server? They do a lot of carry out, slammed could have been accurate. Why not enjoy the company you're with and put the stopwatch away!

I agree. They have good food & serve huge portions for the price. I eat there several times a month. Its close to home and for the price, you cant beat it! They stay pretty busy during the week, especially weekends. Depending on the waitress you get, depends on the service, just like any other place.

What waitress was it? The redhead can be pretty flirty, but I think the others are married. Did you leave a tip?......To keep her hands off your man?
